I have one of my members linking back to me from 13,000 pages. Is this now a really bad thing (although this is a reputable and related site) and should I be contacting them to remove most of those links?

 

If that is the case how many backlinks from one domain is seen as acceptable?

If the site is reputable it shouldn't cause you too many problems.

 

You could use the disavow tool to get rid of these links if you think it's going to cause a problem.

Are they all followed?

 

If so you might want to ask them to add a nofollow tag to the links?

Links from one website is not too much useful to increase ranking of website and would be considered as one so work to get links from different IP websites.

If there is a genuine reason for your link to be there then that shouldn't be a problem.

 

By the large amount I would think that they have a sitewide link to your site so it may not be a case of removing some. If it was a sitewide link then removing that would remove all the links...

You can use nofollow for those links if you think that links can be a cause of any demage. Either you can put specific pages in disavow.

it can be the horible for you..... because google algorithm strictly check those sites which have duplication .. here your link has 13000 duplications

One perspective that was not covered, was how this effects the site it is on. If the site is seen as bad linking and lowered in value by Google, then it is of course not such a valuable backlink to me.

In my opinion having 13,000 links from one domain should not be an issue if it is a (reputable and related site). However, if the anchor text is keyword rich, then this could be a problem with the Penguin algorithm.

This is assuming they are linking to you as (do-follow) not (no-follow), even know it is debatable it will still hurt you if your links are (no-follow) and keyword rich.

You also got to take in consideration that is this is coming from one IP address and will only count as one link regards to your link profile. Most of the time the top level domain has the most (PR), but I have seen sites have other pages with higher (PR), but the result is the same if it is linking from multiple pages on the same IP it will take the highest (PR).

If every link from a (reputable and related site) counted as a Google profile link towards rankings then in theory with enough links pointing to your site you could rank your web site highly in Google from one site. This is not the case and it will work a lot better to get links form different IP address and not just one.

Disavow Tool

Using the disavow tool to disavow links is only needed if you see drop in rankings, which could be due to the Penguin algorithm or if you have a very bad link profile and end up with “unnatural links” notification from Google in your webmaster tools.

I don't think it's bad. Maybe ask him to cut out some of the links and leave just a few?
