I realize my main business website as well as another project of mine have logos that are not registered, so anybody could copy them and use them I guess.

 

Do you guys all have your logos registered, and if so, is it expensive?

In the UK, copyright for artistic works is automatic so you shouldn't have to register your logos for that reason.

If somebody uses your logo for his/her own brand and you sue this person, you'll have to prove that this logo is yours. How are you going to prove that in court except with some sort of formal copyright system?

It's like any artistic works I suppose, you would have the original works e.g. your drafts, illustrator/photoshop files etc.

I am agree with katie.No need to worry about it.

A simple trick is to place a transparent overlay with rounded corners over images from the css using a pseudo element, that makes it much harder for people to just copy your images, and when saving your image/ uploading it for use always make sure you apply your identity to the title and alt text. Many image searches will automatically inert that information along with it's original url into the meta data of the image file for you when somebody does copy it.

 

That makes ownership much more traceable and it can then be proven in court.
