May 27, 200818 yr can anyone help me with setting up paypal express with oscommerce 2.2rc2a (latest) It's meant to be support out of the box, and everything is installed OK, and cart seems to work OK except when you checkout with paypal. Is there a check list or something ? help?
May 27, 200818 yr I didn't think anyone was using OSC anymore? The best place to check is on the OSC forums or the module developers site, it may have bugs that need fixing. Check to see the necessary files have been uploaded correctly Check to see if file permissions are correct where applicable Check to see if your paypal account settings are correct, both in OSC and your Paypal account Check to see if the module has been activated in the OSC admin
May 27, 200818 yr Author If you can recommend a FREE fast (+easy install) alternative that works with php 5, please let me know. I've not able to find one yet. anything new needs me to upgrade php/mysql, pretty much MIGRATE to a new server, which would be hell, and I need something up and running in days. Is there a 100% free e-commerce? see www.eshopfitters.co.uk - there's clearly some serious money to be made with OSC if you are web designer.

Is there anyway I can find out what the paypal account setting should be? does the account need to be verified. the osc forums are pretty hard work.
May 27, 200818 yr I've been using OSC for years and got bored with the lack of progress so switched to using Zen Cart and I haven't looked back. OSc seems dead these days, even the original developer has got himself a full time job and moved away.
May 29, 200818 yr Author http://www.cubecart.com has a free version, and much more up to date than OSC cubecart is still locking you in to upgrade and pay them licence fees .... so it looks like zencart is the one.... can't believe I've had such a hard time with osc the past week. agony. time to switch to zen cart... ;-)
June 11, 200818 yr I didn't think anyone was using OSC anymore? yes , i don't use osc anymore too . i suggest a best and totaly free version of http://www.prestashop.com i think it's very complete . no more !!!
July 16, 200818 yr Prestashop or Magento are the way to go! If you insist on going down the OSC route, CRE loaded and Freeway are good forks, but i recommend prestashop overall.
