Have you used PrestaShop?
I have used it before and I have a local version set up to test all the new modules and to design templates. I've found it to be very easy to use, fast and responsive. From an administrators point of view, It's a dream to use and it generally has a good backend. Installation of modules is easy and the templating system is very powerful. I've got it running locally on WAMPserver, which handles it with no hassle. However, I would only ever use Linux on a server, mainly because WAMPserver behaves more like Linux than Windows Server. I am currently working on a large Prestashop project which I will post more details of in the future. To end though, I would deffinatly recommend using Prestashop!

CMS Recommendation
Hi everyone, I've (finally) learnt HTML/CSS and can create static web pages but now I'd like to learn how to turn my existing websites into CMS powered ones. Which is the best CMS for me to use? I don't have particuarly complex requirements, only: templates are easy to make (ideally just copy and paste HTML/CSS and change a few things, not start from scratch) The page is easy to update It has "clean" urls (ie. /contact.php instead of /details.php?scriptid=39) It can have a contact form Large enough user base to make fixing problems easy via forums Menu Structure is easy and it supports drop downs I like the look of ModX and Concrete5 so far. Ideally, I'd like to convert a static website http://hamstransport.co.uk into a CMS powered one so it can be easily updated. I hope all this makes sense. Thanks Toby

Best CMS for e-commerce?
Prestashop is (i think) by far the best shopping cart available. It's open source and therefore free, has a great community and loads of features, comparable to Magento. However, its much faster than Magento and doesn't need a powerful server, which reduces costs. check it out: Prestashop Website Hope this helps!

Ecommerce site with complex CMS needs
The idea is that you can buy the parts for the products and then there are detailed instruction pages on how to make the finished thing. The pages would probably include things like videos etc.. I think she also wants people to interact with each other and share creations etc.. Do you think the best thing would be to use a different CMS for it and then make a template that looks the same as the shops' one?

Ecommerce site with complex CMS needs
Hi everyone, I'm currently designing a site for a fried and she has some pretty complex needs. Can anyone think of a system that has all the normal ecommerce stuff (postage rates, stock control, discounts etc...) and also has a strong and easy to update CMS aspect as the point of her products is that you can either buy a finished product or you can buy the parts and make them yourself. I was thinking of using prestashop, but the inbuilt CMS is a bit weak as there will be many complex pages with some quite complex stuff on them. Can anyone think of a cart that would work for me? Does magento have all the features or not? I would prefer using open source if possible. Thanks!

simple drop down menu
Hi, im currently doing a site for a friend and I'm trying to incorporate a drop down menu. Does anyone know where there is a good, EASY tutorial for doing this? I have beginner/intermediate CSS & HTML skills. I have uploaded the files so you can see what I mean. I want to put a drop down menu under the large picture. At the moment, I only have a half-finished normal menu. I am also aware there is a bug with it displaying in firefox, which I havn't fixed yet, but it works fine in IE at the moment. Also, any other comment on the design/coding while I'm at it? thanks! hams_new.zip

Need new e-commerce software
Prestashop gets my vote. I find it much better than Magento. I think it is easier for the end user, especially if they are not very techie. Also, its easier to design for. I'm not sure about how easy it is to edit the PHP/programming of it as I don't ever touch that side of CMS's (i purely design). Also, the forums are great and the developers are very active on them. I'm not sure what the magento forums are like but I posted a question before and didn't find them as helpful.

Why isn't my DIV in the right place?
Hi everyone, I am having real trouble with a website I am working on. It's not a real company, but a mock up I have to do as part of the IT A-Level I'm trying to do. As you can see from the attached file, the right hand side of the content (the DIV is called "content-right") floats below "content-left". I want them to be next to each other, and I can't spot anything in the code thats causing this not to happen. It's easier to understand when you open the web page! Please can you look through my code and see if you can find why it's not working properly? I have attached a .zip file. It contains the .html file, the .css file and the img folder. Other than that, what do you think of the code in general? I'm still teaching myself but it all validates so far! Thanks Toby toby_website.zip

javascript side scrolling tabs
Hi, I've seen an effect I'd really love to learn how to do. It's scrolling sideways to display different content. does anyone know a good tutorial where I can learn how to do it? The example is: http://dev.clarklab.net/wp/ - Just click on the links on the left and the effect will happen. I looked on his website and the only technical detail was that it uses jQuery. I hope you can help me! Thanks very much Toby
