Featured Replies

I want to convert

http://example.com/c...ry.php?id=Rohit

to

http://example.com/Rohit

I tried Running this code in .htaccess file

Options -Multiviews
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^([^/]*)$ /category.php?id=$1 [L]

But it Didnt work. Later i converted the .htaccess file to

Options -Multiviews
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^website/(.+)$ category.php?id=$1

and this works but now my URL looks like this

http://example.com/website/Rohit

which means my .htaccess file is working

please help to make my URL like this

http://example.com/Rohit

Code formatting

I tried your code I didn't worked and showing internal server error.

Strange, works for me - might be the missing /.

RewriteRule ^([a-zA-Z0-9_-]+)$ category.php?id=$1

RewriteRule ^([a-zA-Z0-9_-]+)/$ category.php?id=$1

I found this code. Its works perfectly fine.

http://roshanbh.com....s-htaccess.html

4th example

You can shorten that to a single rule:

RewriteRule ^([A-Z0-9_-]+)\/?$ category.php?id=$1 [NC,L]
