May 22, 201214 yr Anyone started using Drive yet and put it to the test? I'm currently dividing personal and business files between the two and have noticed Drive to be painfully slow. Files that sync with Dropbox instantly take forever on Drive. Currently at 20 or 116 files after an hours wait, most files are text some are images, no videos or other large files.
May 22, 201214 yr Syncing business with Drive and personal with Dropbox. Not had any issues with slow sync on Drive, in fact i'm liking the fact that it's so tightly integrated with all of the Google services. Personal stuff is using Dropbox as i don't particularly need quick access to the files for professional reasons. One thing i did notice was that, at first, Drive did flag some files as 'unable to sync', a quick click of retry and they went through fine and i haven't had the same issue since. Gotta love all these services, it's never been so easy to access all your s*** and stay organised!
May 22, 201214 yr Author Yes I'd say Dropbox has been by far the best free bit of online tech i've had the fortune to come across.
May 22, 201214 yr Author Amazingly since talking about it, and turning on my other computer to sync, drive has gone into overdrive and uploaded and downloaded all the files.
June 1, 201214 yr I use drive, I prefer it over dropbox because I find it easier as I use a lot of google docs, never had an issue.
June 28, 201214 yr Yes I'd say Dropbox has been by far the best free bit of online tech i've had the fortune to come across. i agree. dropbox ftw
June 28, 201214 yr I've been using Skydrive for personal and Dropbox for business for a little while, not tried Drive yet as the others I use seem to do the trick. Skydrive is best for me at the moment due to the WIndows Phone integration.
June 28, 201214 yr Bit of an update on my previous post... Google Drive: Work related files, localhosts, invoices, business documents etc Dropbox: Syncs with mobile for instant accessible photos, client repository for zips. SkyDrive: PC based pictures videos and documents, due to the superb Windows 8 integration.
June 28, 201214 yr SkyDrive: PC based pictures videos and documents, due to the superb Windows 8 integration. this sounds good but I just bet someone in the depths of the EU is thinking how to sue Microsoft for daring to do this.
June 28, 201214 yr Find Dropbox linking with Desktop for files over a certain size to be somewhat irritating. So will look at Google Drive as a replacement. Can any of them just accept folders of work or is file by file.
