Hi,

When the client just signed, you obviously already asked all the important questions. So do you immediately start working, or do you usually ask further questions about technical details that you need to know in order to start working ?

Depends entirely on each individual project. You may have to wait for material to be sent, you may not actually have the time to start work on it straight away and, if like most freelancers, have it booked in for a few weeks/months down the line.

Other jobs yeah you may be able to open up PS and knock up a graphical display right away.

Really does depend on who your working with and how good they are to work with. Once a client has signed the contract I usually ask them to draw up some sort of Menu Structure for the site. It shows them that you are actively doing the work and gives them something to do which makes them feel a lot more involved. It also leaves the 'ball in their court' so they must keep in touch to continue with the project.
