Feedback welcome for an ecommerce site of weekly deals (always 1 product)

Fine.... Do some style works on left buttons.......

Colours don't work for me, neither does the layout of the content. Whats the boxer got to do with it all?!

idea of the boxer was for "unbeatable prices"

it's for a shop with discontinued and overstock items with very cheap prices

it's not a regular tools shop for example,

that's why i have chosen for a more funny happy colors and cartoon for mascot

in fact i am a web developer, not a real designer, but i am learning about graphic design now, all tips are welcome

If you are using a random image such as the boxer on a tools website then you should include a tagline to the effect of "unbeatable prices", "knockout deals" etc

As panda alluded to, the colour scheme doesn't really work, in fact the whole look doesn't fit the purpose and whilst it may seem attractive to somebody who likes nice graphics I don't really think the average builder will be much impressed by whats on offer - just my 2 cents.

I'm not a builder for the record :)

get rid of the green and use the red to make it pop.

add tag line near boxer as others suggest.

I think this design is too simplate and a little bit primitive,I advice you to redesign it in high-tech style. Now most visitors like simple but gorgeous design.

The main problem I got with this is that you are advertising for DIY tools yet the colour scheme is very 'child like' i.e fun and colourful.

I like it as a design but not for your actual genre of business.

It needs to be more professional.

Get rid of the background sun ray beam and probably turn it white.

Make your content area wider/ or have something advertised/side menu on the left....

content bigger & or left menu -> true, was considering this

about the colors: the site is for special sales (end of life products for example), that's why i was looking for fun colors

i just put in a tool for example but it can be anything (bikes, clothes, etc)

it's a special concept of my client who will sell EOL products at very cheap prices,

and always online 1 item, when it's sold out, they start with the next sale/promotion item

(if it was a tools webshop i absolutely found the colors & layout not good for it)

the text "steraanbieding" is dutch but tells this in 1 word,

"onklopbare prijzen" on the boxer means "unbeatable prices"

i hope you can follow me now on the concept

i dont think that was clear that its selling all sorts.

i think you need to add content for it to become clear what direction the site is moving in.

right now there is lack of information which will lead some people to dislike the current style.

yes, i visit the client tomorrow for making up text to publish more information about the concept

and probably also a clear stock counter so the visitors know that it is a one-time offer

Okay so good improvement from the intial design, it all makes sense now.

only thing I dont like at the moment is the navigation, in my opinion it would look alot nicer if you reduce the size of the buttons and line it up under the logo , or the boxer..

  • Author

Also the image of the guy on the right is a little blurry. Did you draw it? Or have you simply taken a picture and scaled it up a touch?

It's a vector, but you are right. I'll check out what happened with it

good point

nice frame work.... but you are NOT selling those products, try images on right, give them a border, maybe a title over the image....

i can follow you if you mean the images are to flat, need to put some style on it

but why would you set the images on the right?

the eye is drawn to the right

I agree with her on this. its because of that damn boxer.
