Hi there!

 

This is my third design, I'm more of a developer than a designer so go easy. I've had some feedback that says the colour scheme is a bit weird. What do you guys think? It's for a client who does poetry readings, writing seminars, tv and radio broadcasts etc.

 

This is just the first page, trying to get a feel for how I want the site to be.

 

Anyway let me know what you think and how I can improve.

I'm only able to see the image tiny on my phone but looks ok from here. One thing I'd say though is decrease the saturation of the yellow on the logo and form fields.

I really like the red banner and the black side bar ! the textures and gradients are really good in there ..And I am doubtful about the off white colour.This is my personal opinion.

I kind of like the logo, but I definitely agree about the contact form, might tone that down a bit.

You're not the first person to be doubtful of the yellow background. I'll look into it. Thanks for having a look.

desaturate the yellow to more of an old paper look at it should work a lot better

 

the gradient on the logo is too harsh - use a tint of the teal rather than taking it all the way to white and same for the yellow

Looks good to me, good job

it's looks ok for me.nice. but for me, when i design a 'black' website, im not using white (ffffff) font. I use not so white font such as #d1d1d1 color code.
