Star Clean

It started with a dodgy coloured logo I was provided with and the cheapness of it has spread...

Suggestions for how to improve this are welcome... still working on it but running out of ideas.

the noise in the content background looks mucky... on a site for cleaning. Blur it up a bit

Also the text just looks too big for me? Maybe its me it just looks off

I dont think it looks so cheap, it quite like it, I agree the font needs to be smaller thou.. I'd also make the black header smaller as there is a lot of black empty space on the header. all in all not a bad website, would contract those cleaners no probs.

It just needs a bit of polish I think.

I would ;

  • Ditch all the gradients entirely. Flat black header, flat pink nav.
  • Reduce the font size.
  • Ditch the shadow on the nav text.
  • Remove the 'Services'/'Testimonials' page header on the black background, it's a bit redundant with the nav menu.
  • Remove the slider from all but the index page

content background blurred up a bit

text size reduced

got rid of shadow on nav text

black header title smaller

took the gradient off the menu

removed slider from all but the front page...

any more suggestions would be welcomed...

Overall it's a nice design, easy to navigate and find information.

I agree with reducing the paragraph line-height slightly. I would also get the 'One off Deep Clean', 'After Party' and 'End of Tenancy' boxes to align correctly, it may be as simple as giving them all a fixed height.

Lastly the fade effect on your navigation buttons and the 'Back to top' button lasts for too long, reduce it so that it is a quick clean fade.

Wordpress was playing around adding extra stuff in making the stuff go out of line.

I have a plugin called raw html which is quite handy for switching off automatic paragraphs per post... but I try and leave it editable for the client, who probably wouldn't have a clue how to add p tags.

Reduced the line height a bit... hope that helps things and changed the fading time cause it was a bit slow.

Its getting there... still waiting on more content from the client though.

I like it, nice and clean. I don't think the logo is that bad. Seen worse!

BTW a little off-topic, but i really like your portfolio site.
