You can either download it and run it on your own web server (wordpress.org) or you can use a kind of restricted version that they host for you (wordpress.com) There is also things like Tumblr and Google's Blogspot

July 31, 201115 yr Thanks for the reply, do you know any websites that let you embed the blog onto your website with no watermarks an not using iframe? If you have your own site already then it may be worth downloading something such as Wordpress and then hosting it on your own server. That way you have all the control.

July 31, 201115 yr tumblr - http://www.tumblr.com/goodies See the 'Embed your blog' bit. They do restrict the number of entries you can pull though. This allows more http://robertnyman.com/2008/09/19/tumblrbadge-a-tumblr-badge-script/#comment-744257 Edited July 31, 201115 yr by zed

Wheres the best place to go for learning how to incorporate a blog into your own website in wordpress. Trying to initially get your head around it is a bit confusing. Do you have to design your site from scratch again just to make a template? ...So far I have my website in html, css & I've downloaded wordpress, and the starkers theme

Do you have to design your site from scratch again just to make a template? ...So far I have my website in html, css & I've downloaded wordpress, and the starkers theme The Wordpress website itself has a lot of great tutorials and guides on how to do this in their 'Codex' (support site). Wordpress can be made to match your site whatever your site looks like. I would advise visiting the Wordpress site and reading the tutorials. It's basically about creating HTML template files (which you already have in the form of your site) and then plugging in the required Wordpress bits and bobs. If you browse through starkers you'll get an idea of how a theme is laid out and you might just be able to modify starkers enough for it to match your site or if you feel you can't tackle it, hand the job off to a developer who can get the job done for you.
August 1, 201115 yr Hey, I'm new to this forum so I'm not sure where this will fit in. I need a blog like this: Here I've been wondering for ages how to make one so can you tell me how? Many thanks. Besides WordPress, there's another great way to create a free blog - Drupal. Drupal is PHP and MySQL based content management system. See how to Set up a blog
August 2, 201115 yr You don't have to make your own theme, really. The beauty about Wordpress is that there are thousands of plugins and themes available for it, both free or otherwise.
August 2, 201115 yr Start off slow. Two articles a week. Then see how well received it is and then judge whether it's worth doing more.
August 2, 201115 yr Drupal is overkill for anyone who isn't sure how they even get a blog. Both WordPress and Drupal work for a blog site. Drupal is better on URL control, more powerful on Taxonomy/catagories, custom content types and Views, more advanced user management, multiple blogs and much easier theming. When you build using Drupal, you can start with a basic blog first and add advanced features later. If you want to extend your site in the future, Drupal is a better choice.
August 3, 201115 yr You can make such blog in wordpress and blogspot both are user and search engine friendly.
August 5, 201115 yr If you do not feel comfortable with wordpress blogging due to its theme restriction You can then simply higher a developer and can create blogging script which will fit in any design I have created many times such a blogging script.
August 5, 201115 yr If you do not feel comfortable with wordpress blogging due to its theme restriction What restrictions?
