Hosting Website name

Featured Replies

Can anybody tell me how to find out the name of my current website hosted address. www .creativert.com this is my website.

Thanks

Hi Rockstar.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'What is the name of my website?' - If you're trying to find our which hosting company hosts it, you can use WHOIS as Zed mentioned. In this instance, the WHOIS record shows that both your domain and hosting are managed by Namecheap - you'll need to contact them with any queries concerning your hosting account.

Kind Regards,

Thomas

which is exactly what whois.domaintools does.

I think too the OP has changed their nameservers already, I'm sure it wasn't using namecheap when I first looked. edit

still says Name Servers:

ns69.domaincontrol.com

ns70.domaincontrol.com

so they could well be still populating?

The WHOIS record shows:

dns1.namecheaphosting.com

dns2.namecheaphosting.com

But having done an NS lookup for that domain, no results were returned, so it could well still be populating.

yeah, here http://whois.domaintools.com/c reat iver t.com

Name Servers:

ns69.domaincontrol.com

ns70.domaincontrol.com

Creation date: 08 Mar 2011 16:10:00

Expiration date: 08 Mar 2012 11:10:00

here http://www.whois.net/whois/c reat ive rt.com

Name Server: DNS1.NAMECHEAPHOSTING.COM

Name Server: DNS2.NAMECHEAPHOSTING.COM

Status: clientTransferProhibited

Updated Date: 04-may-2011

Creation Date: 08-mar-2011

Expiration Date: 08-mar-2012

So, looks like amended today and likely to give a variety of results.

In that case http://intodns.com is the perfect website to see live results for any domain...

http://intodns.com/creativert.com

His active nameservers are :

dns1.namecheaphosting.com. ['74.81.65.92'] [TTL=172800]

dns2.namecheaphosting.com. ['69.65.41.209'] [TTL=172800]

But the domain has a problem with dns records at DNS server end.

Thanks for your reply friends.

I come to the point what I all need is I have to change my ftp username and password of my website. I think it is possible from the place where we have hosted the website. One of my friend hosted this site. Now I cant able to contact him. So I need to find who is hosting my website.

Changing FTP login details will be possible from your hosting control panel.. However, since you have mentioned the website is in the ownership of your friend, I doubt if any good host will give you access without verification.. Infact, they will give access to your friend (who is not in contact with you)... I would suggest to contact your friend, and have him contact his host to give you access...

You need to login to the control panel that godaddy providers you to manage your website files, email and password. Just confirm if its cpanel in that case search for control panel password change option.

For FTP as well the password needs to be changed from your Cpanel itself.

For cpanel control panel password change you can take a look at : http://www.webhost.uk.net/tutorials/cpanel-x3/cpanel-x3-pwchange.html
