January 26, 201115 yr right I installed a the NextGEN gallery plugin on a clients website, all was fine, it seemed to be working. Then I go to the site and get this error. PHP Warning: require_once(D:\domain\wp-content\plugins\nextgen-gallery/lib/core.php) [<a href='function.require-once'>function.require-once</a>]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in D:\domain\wp-content\plugins\nextgen-gallery\nggallery.php on line 280 PHP Fatal error: require_once() [<a href='function.require'>function.require</a>]: Failed opening required 'D:\domain\wp-content\plugins\nextgen-gallery/lib/core.php' (include_path='.;./includes;./pear') in D:\domain\wp-content\plugins\nextgen-gallery\nggallery.php on line 280 I tried to login and the same message comes up, so as it is saying about some files failing to open I thought I would reinstall the plugin via the ftp...the files refuse to copy across or delete from there. Is there anyway to get rid of this error and plugin so that wordpress will work again. Please help
January 26, 201115 yr Have you checked the permissions on the plugin folder and enclosed items? CHMOD them to 755 for now, see if that helps the situation.
January 26, 201115 yr Author yeah all the permissions are set, I've even tried renaming the folder to something eles and renaming the entire plugins folder and that doesn't work either. Nothings working
January 26, 201115 yr Hmmm i've used this plug-in a few times with no problems. One problem i have had in the past is folders reporting as being set to one set of permissions but actually it never took effect. Can you check with your host if the permissions actually are what they say they are? This caused me days of torment with an OpenCart install once Grrr Either that or the old FTP corrupted the file routine Edit: ooo just saw the bit about you already ftping. Have you tried deleting everything? Edited January 26, 201115 yr by MikeChipshop
January 26, 201115 yr Author I tried deleting all the files from ftp and that failed, so going to delete the whole site off the server, re-add it and start it again a fresh, as that seems the quickest solution and eliminates all the possible problems at the same time. Thanks for all the suggestions
