I am just wondering - does google see more pages / URL's as more content and so worthy of higher ranking?

 

I noticed on neil0wen's site for example that there are a lot of pages with only a few lines of content such as this so @ Neil or anyone - is this dividing content over multiple pages done for SEO reasons? If the content is the same, is 10 pages / URL's better than 5 pages / URL's?

 

also does google care about the format of the content eg if it is all the same content does it matter if I have 10 pages in my primary navigation menu and then 5 blog entries in the blog page or 5 pages in the primary navigation menu and then 10 blog entries?

Quality over quantity every time

 

Don't be fooled into thinking that more pages = more content+ranking, if you do that you'll probably be diluting things down too much and the value of your pages will drop.

 

Present your content for your visitors so they can find what they're looking for with the minimum of fuss!

as bluedreamer is totally right, forget google, literally do what ever makes the usability of the page better... every single person who trys to play with google fails at some point... so make a good website that people will like and as if by magic google will reward you.
