How long should a photoshop mockup take?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

How long should a single mockup take in photoshop. I find it seems to take me 4 -5 hours? Is this rite or am i taking to long?

I usually start of putting lots of elements in and messing with them etc...

Depends on the number of pages and on how inspired I am at the time. Sometimes even a one-page design can take me 4-5hrs - you're not alone!

It takes me about an hour an a half to do a one page mockup.

to finish and polish a design that you would be 100% happy with it could take from 3 hours to about 7 or 8 hours

Fewww...I was thinking i was really ****e at design if i took that long lol. But if its normal thats cool! Thanks people :)

Yeah I can put in a good solid 7-8 hours on visuals sometimes, if the client allows I will work on the visuals over a period of a week (even been 2 weeks), it gives you much more freedom to refine the visuals, as in most cases the visuals you had after 1 week wont be a patch on those produced after 2 weeks (obviously on and off) refinement.

For example this pic below (this has been refined over a couple of weeks, still a work in progress mind), the client was really cool with this, and I budgeted for it! Some clients wouldn't give you that leeway though!!

I usually spend around a day or 2 making sure I got the design right.
