Speed Test your ISP!

Featured Replies

Hey I found this great Speed test for your ISP which tests your Upload and Download speeds. It has a great GUI interface with a Speedometer to determine your download rate :)

I'm currently with Sky Broadband Mid and I ranked in at:

Download: 7160 kbps

Upload: 313 kbps

Click on the pyramid closest to your location :) (it's normally preselected in gold for you)

It's interesting if you where curious of your speed :)

:)

Got a line that's 3100 up and 1000 down. And the installation guy said my line should be able to cope with high speeds. So I might be tempted to upgrade at some point.

And the best thing: here in Norway we don't have that silly bandwidth cap as you find in the UK! I'm loving it! So refreshing after coming from a Tiscali nightmare back in London.

I'm currently on Virginmedia 20Mb BB. VM are currently trialling 50Mb BB for rollout later in the year.

Here are my results from the linked speed test site...

If you call the VM helpdesk, they ask you to try downloading from http://gamefiles.virginmedia.com/blueyonde.../demos/?C=S;O=D

I've just tried it and am getting 18000+ kb/s :D

download 1933 kb/s and upload 233 kb/s

mmmmmm......not very exciting...

Not sure how this all works but I guess I'm lucky to have broadband considering how few people live out here.

My speed has gone down recently, used to be around 12,000 kb/s - I think it is because I upgraded my upload to over 1,300 kb/s. I can still download from usenet at around 15,000kb/s, for some reason.

I'm on Be Unlimited (Pro) by the way ^_^

That's not too bad, but bear in mind, this is the works internet. I'll test my home connection later :)

Has anyone used the BBC iPlayer and downloaded media?

I'm regularly getting 1.5 - 1.8 Mbytes/sec :D :D

I will once it's available for the mac! :(

I thought it uses p2p technology anyway? That way you are only limited by the amount of people sharing the files.
