What Did Spain Do That England Didn't Do?

Featured Replies

Spain had almost all the possession, Germany didn't hardly touch the ball. My question is; How did they do it, and more specifically what did they they do that England didn't?

They're disciplined and don't play hot Potato with the damn football. It is almost art watching Spain play, one downside is they try and walk the ball into the back of the net! That's how confident they are with their passing! lol

They played footbal, and left their ego's at home

They had a fluid formation, not a stuck in the mud one

The passed the ball accuratally, not just belted it forwards

They worked as a team, not as a bunch of "nearly pairs"

They are comfortable on the ball, believe in their own ability and have a fluid information. It does help that when your team have the majority of possession that your formation can be more fluid. For example Xavi covered the most distance in the game, more than an other player on the pitch. This is turn provides a mental strength, I believe Schweinsteiger (sp?) made note of this after saying how tired this extremely fit team were after spending the whole night chasing. That in turn has a negative affect on their own concentration and ability on the ball when then do have hence why as the game went on Spain never looked under pressure

They have better players, simple as.

they know their role, passion to play the game for their country not just club, oh and their players didn't book their holidays expecting to go out so soon...spain could easily beat their opponents with a large goal margin if they don't try walking the ball in the net most the time...oh and they have players who are worth their money

They're just a better team. England hasn't had a team worth watching since the Shearer days.
