Hi i'm looking for a free forum script that doesn't encrypt the password when registering.

Sorry, but haven't got a answer for you. But I'm curious to why you don't want encryption? Sounds less secure.

I want to use the user information on other parts of my site e.g. adding comments on videos. I don't want to make people register twice to use the forum and the features i've created on the site.

You'll probably need to write a "bridge" script so you can syncronise the user logins. Many CMS's already have prewritten bridges for the popular forums like vB, Invision, SMF and phpBB so they can share data. I don't know of any that use unencrypted passwords as it's not secure. Check out http://www.opensourcecms.com/ to see if any forums do what yopu want but don't hold your breath

seems a bit suspicious to me, why would you want to see peoples passwords??

 

I always encrypt my passwords!

Amember is a good bridging script for bulletin boards/cms systems and you can access all restricted areas of your site via 1 simple login.

Good call Ben, I never thought of aMember, even though I'm actually using it for the first time on a project!

No probs, yeah it's one of those scripts you tend to over look, what did you think about customisation, there's lot's of templates top edit to customise it to your needs I found, and when there's updates, I found I had to repeat the process so made sure the changes where well documented.

 

But it does function very well.

If aMember can be integrated with other CMS's then yes you can do it with your CMS. I suggest asking on the aMember forums for advice, they will most probably have developer API's as well which will cover most of the donkey work.
