The site will have tutorials (of which nature I cannot tell you yet as it is in alpha stages) Its will have a blog And It will have a support forum. WHat type of hosting would I need for this... would It be VPS or shared hosting? I'm looking for the cheapest deal here so as much help as possible is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Kieran, As your website will be new, there's no need to jump straight to a VPS server unless you're going to do an awful lot of marketing. A shared hosting package should be more then sufficient for your needs to start off with. If you're interested in shared hosting, feel free to drop me a message or give me a call and we can discuss your needs further. We have a lot of clients who are self-employed web designers and will be able to assist you with a lot of things to help you get your website up and running. As your website starts to grow, you can always upgrade to a VPS or dedicated server at a later stage.
March 3, 201016 yr As Thomas has said you don't need to start big, start small and upgrade when you need to, most hosts are reasonable with this and as soon as you see the need to upgrade to a better package they will do it deduct what is left on you old package from your new one so its not as if you will loose money by starting small
March 3, 201016 yr Totally, shared hosting is the best place to start, and if you outgrow shared in terms of resource usage then a VPS would only be a step sideways, not an upgrade. Just a shame many market a VPS as an upgrade from shared A VPS is a very different service from shared/dedicated, especially if the host markets them as upgrades from shared hosting too....
March 3, 201016 yr Author Thanks for the help guys. Do you reckon If I bought a one year hosting plan with a shared host, and then wanted to upgrade to a VPS after six months they would let me do it? And would I be able to keep all my old email accounts and things like that? Sorry for the beginner questions. Kieran.

That entirely depends on the hosting company to be honest, but the majority will be happy to let you do that if you upgrade to a VPS with the same company. Generally, yes, you'll be able to transfer all of the data from your shared hosting account to a VPS, this shouldn't be a problem. A lot of companies will be willing to do this for you.

Hello, If you are looking for a cheapest deal go for shared Hosting ,once you start understanding your website needs you can upgrade to higher plan later.
