February 26, 201016 yr Hi guys, Just wanted to post up a site I did a new design for my friend. I made the site last year and he wanted to add more pages and freshen it up so I've changed the whole look and layout and added some javascript for animations. Any feedback welcome Current / Old Design New / Updated Version P.S. There's only the homepage done so far on the new design as I just got it done today and am waiting for content for the other pages.
February 26, 201016 yr Yeah, got to agree with that. It looks real nice, but in could do with being centred (I'm using 1260x1080) and having the scroll just flow down the page. Like I said though, it looks real nice. The left manu, logo, colours, music player and bottom icons all look slick.
February 26, 201016 yr If you right click on the navigation buttons then click off them, they stay highlighted. An addicting bug, but a bug nonetheless I agree with the above, take out the scroll. EDIT: Grammar? Edited February 26, 201016 yr by andyl
February 26, 201016 yr I love the subtle jQuery effects. Really brings the site to life. I think the site should stay to aligned the left, it suits it. Although I agree the scrollbar is a turn-off, you have executed it very well so *hight 5* for that! Cool nav, cool graphics, nice background. Maybe a different background picture on every page? That would bring some variety to it. Creative MP3 player as well. Job well done.
February 26, 201016 yr Actually maybe it would be fine on the left if the scroll was removed. It's very unbalanced right now, all bunched up to the top left on my screen.
February 27, 201016 yr Author Thanks for the replies The reason I went with the scrollbar is becuase the client really likes the look of other dj websites done entirely in flash which I didn't want to do as I wanted to try implement some sort CMS to the site. There's not going to be a lot of content and none of the pages will need much scrolling to read all of the content. It can be an annoying thing for some people and not for others. Lets hope it won't lose him any gigs As for keeping it to the left, it was a style used in a couple of sites the client liked and it's also something different I wanted to have for my portfolio. EDIT Thanks for the heads up on the buttons, fixed it just there now
March 1, 201016 yr Not much creative input. But I prefer the old site? It seems cleaner and not so crammed together!
March 1, 201016 yr The New site is 100% better, just work on the content area Maybe make it a bit wider and style the text some more inside
