January 27, 201016 yr Hi all, I am new to this place and it would be great if you could help me. I recently designed this site for a client and he says something is missing. I tried adding different things (design elements) but he is not yet satisfied. He himself doesn't know what. It'll be great if you could give me constructive criticism. Link: http://www.broadbandmix.co.uk Thanks in advance. Cheers, Sunny
January 27, 201016 yr Ummm. Nice design, IMHO. Whatever does hi want? Copy these nice shapes from the footer to the header background (white or blue, I don`t yet know). Put them in light-blue, and increase size.

January 27, 201016 yr If he's paying you extra for the times you're having to make changes by hazarding a guess on what it is exactly he wants then fair enough if not then I think you should put your foot down and ask him politely to make a decision or you'd be just going round in circles. I think the design looks great.
January 27, 201016 yr What if the difference between shape and backgroud colors will be negligeable (almost)? + big shape size scattering - 2-3 big shapes, 4-5 middle ones, 4-5 smaller and so on
January 27, 201016 yr I think it looks great, Maybe a very light tint in the background but leaving the main central content sitting on a white page would tie it all together and make it seem more complete as it would define the page a bit more. Other than that i think you need to make the client specify exactly what he wants rather than you trying to second guess them. Or maybe use the dotted lines vertically to define page sides, that would tie in nicely with what you have done. Nice site.
January 27, 201016 yr Or maybe use the dotted lines vertically to define page sides, that would tie in nicely with what you have done. Or see what it looks like to use that dotted line between your navigation buttons? It might also work to add a light border to the large banner images; light as in quite delicate, not necessarily 'white' light, if you get what I mean! Nothing heavy but just a little something to finish them off nicely. Otherwise, I think you need to do as already suggested - you can't keep trying things just on the offchance something might suddenly click with him.

January 27, 201016 yr Do you know what he wants to feel when he looks at the site? If you don't know what he wants, then you can't randomly hope and try things, you have to figure it out, or tell him flat out you can't guess what he wants, unless he's willing to pay you to keep guessing (then that's fine )
January 27, 201016 yr Author He is currently happy with the design... and he is willing to pay more to solve that last hiccup he has. He is irritated as well cause he wants something but doesn't know what. Thanks for the suggestions... I will add the dotted lines and check how it looks...

I was thinking something along those lines too. Nice website, I like the footer image.
