  1. Really nice work man, though I'd like to see some more out-of-the-box kind of designs. Something really different and unique. But honestly, great job!
  2. Hey guys, thanks for all the feedback! I have finished the updated design and it's now live, check it out now and tell me what you think: http://desuade.co.uk/partigen Cheers!
  3. I respect your opinion, and it makes me wonder what Apple's logo would be if they had the same idea. I'm not saying a cow would be good, I'm just pointing out that obviousness has some benefits, like brand recall. Hell, you could even have a huge piece of grass be your logo, explaining why all the cows are fat. Doesn't have to be obvious, but something to make your brand stand out – which isn't happening with this logo. It looks great, it's just not good for a logo - in my opinion, of course.
  4. Looks good. I'd turn down the glow and inner dropshadow a tad, make it a bit more subtle. Also, there's something about the grey you're using. Can't pinpoint it exactly. It's okay, but not as good as it could be.
  5. This may seem like a silly question, but why isn't there a cow (let alone a fat one) in your logo (or anywhere on your site)? I think you're missing a brilliant marketing opportunity.
  6. At first I wasn't sure exactly what I was looking at - didn't seem like a blog. It's pretty simple, almost too simple. Add some fine details, just little things here at there. Maybe instead of pure white on blue, do a super light blue. It'll look white, but match better. Maybe some subtle, light borders around the images. Subtle stuff. Also, the serif and sans fonts don't work well together, nor does the black on blue. The advertise here text isn't aligned, which wouldn't make me want to advertise. Over all it's pretty simple, and I'd just go through and pay more attention to the subtle details, and you can make it much more appealing without a lot of extra design elements - make sense? Good luck and good work on content!
  7. Design is great! Only thing is the shadow on the pictures is a little off, but it's ok. Agree with the coding, optimize that sucker. Where in Socal are you? I was living in Tustin/Mission Viejo a few months ago
  8. Oh, yes of course I updated it a lot actually. Separated the design/dev boxes from the logos, did a little rearranging and tweaking. Better, yes?
  9. I want to think I know what you mean, but I don't. Could you elaborate please? Like ababa for breaking outside of the margins?
  10. Thank you both very much, me too! I've been developing it for a year, so I hope it helps a lot of people @Lev: good observation. If you notice, it aligns with the contents and the footer text, which is 20px in from the outer frame, where only the header, the mid big background, and the footer expand to, but the contents stay inside the 20px. Does that makes sense, or at least, sense design wise? It's like padding/margin, kinda.
  11. Do you know what he wants to feel when he looks at the site? If you don't know what he wants, then you can't randomly hope and try things, you have to figure it out, or tell him flat out you can't guess what he wants, unless he's willing to pay you to keep guessing (then that's fine )
  12. Hey everyone, I'm looking for some last minute crits before I finalize the design. The current page is: http://desuade.co.uk/partigen This is the design refresh: I think it looks much better. Note, the top screenshot image will be a video, and the quotes will be changed, but everything else is real. I'm aware not everyone has myriad pro installed, so the html text font is verdana. It seems ok. Do you think the effect reel image draws *too much* attention? Cheers! Andrew
