Review my mock-up
Please don't take this the wrong way as we all know the hardest website to design is your own, but how can you have 'Creative solutions from a creative mind' as a strapline on your website when you are getting people on here to design your own website for you? Maybe you need to sit down and sketch a few layouts and ideas down and then work on it some more, look at lots of other designers websites and note down/print out the parts you like and what you think works well, then see if you can adapt them into your own personal style. By doing this research I think you will end up with a better website than just amending your current one with kneejerk reactions to comments from other designers (however good the suggestions are). If you can't do it for yourself then how can you expect clients to pay you to do it for them? Sorry if that came across as harsh, just trying to make a point that a web designers website should at least showcase some of what they can do and offer and would benefit from some quality time being spent on it.

As well as looking a bit dull, it's also a little all over the place - try to get your elements to line up.

My new CV site... thoughts?
When I view fullscreen using Firefox, I can see text links on the left side of the screen, you need to offset them more so they disappear completely. See attached.

My attempt at a logo
No he is right, it is gradient.

Photoshop request
Why not just buy an image of a hand holding a gun from istock? It would cost less than £20 I would have thought. Here you go.. less than £15 would get you this http://www.istockphoto.com/stock-photo-9260074-shooting-gun.php

Logo theft
What a cheapskate client.. He was getting a cheap job done and now he wants to reduce the price even more. How has he had it from you previously.. as a pdf visuals to approve? If you created the logo in a vector based programme (as all Logo's should really be designed in - to enable ease of scaling without loss of quality) it's possible to open the pdf in Illustrator retaining all paths and colours etc. In this case then if he or the printers have any knowledge of what you can do with pdf's he would not need any of your other files to do what the hell he wanted with the logo. If he only has lo res versions then i would tell him to stick his £25 and take him to small claims if he uses it as the previous poster said.

Chartered Designers?
Anyone got thoughts on this? I like the idea of making the industry more professional, but I'm not sure how successful it'd be. It'd be hard to grade peoples work to a set standard. How would they do it, ask if the designer likes comic sans and drop shadows and see if they say yes or no? http://creativereview.co.uk/cr-blog/2010/february/cr-survey

My new site design - So Far
I'm not saying that you shouldn't break a few rules but layout wise I personally find it a bit confusing, maybe define the midsection a bit more. Its not far off, but just not quite there yet for me. - Just my personal opinion, i'm not saying it's right or wrong.

My new site design - So Far
I disagree with the chap above me.. I like parts of it separately but it seems like it's all just been plonked on there with no order or structure. My eyes don't know where to go, It would help if the stuff on the right hand side all lined up vertically.

How much Coffee/Tea do you drink daily?
I tend to drink about 10 cups a day, and unless I have biscuits to dunk, I usually go for coffee.

That's cool but have you thought of just having a simple holding page up on your webspace with some contact details and a 'coming soon' message whilst you are trying things out? Currently prospective clients can click through to you and each time they arrive on your website it looks a bit different. I'd develop the website offline until you are 100% happy with it... particularly as you are offering a design service, and you want your own site to sell your skills. So I'd upload any developments to a testing folder within your webspace. Hope that makes sense...

It's the same on all your pages. Also, you keep changing the font of your name. They all seem a bit amateurish to me. I'd personally stick with a nice sans serif or modern looking serif font in white and leave out any gradients or text effects like drop shadows and outlines. It's also a touch big and seems to be repeated top right when it doesn't need to be. You need to work on a bespoke logo that fits you and your services rather than just using standard fonts with special effects applied.

Hi, I have a few comments.. Firstly your background gradient finishes off a bit abruptly as the pale blue of your gradient meets the solid brighter blue at the bottom, it would be nicer if the gradient was from dark blue to light blue on the whole page and probably best to only use two shades. You seem to be using a lot of colours, I can see BLUE, ORANGE, GREEN, GREY and WHITE text on the same page. I'd say pick two to use throughout your website and it will have a more unified look and feel. In your name/header the leading is off throughout and it reads as 'COL TAN SOLUTIONS' Maybe try and get a few images in there.. Hope that makes sense
