A little feedback please

Morning guys and gals,

I'm looking for some feedback on my site, I've not designed the site looking for the wow factor, it's designed more for the client who's looking for information and services on website design.

I've gained a few clients but need to increase my client list.

any tips, tricks and advise would be great.

Site Link

informative, clear, easy to navigate, quite a corporate feeling site.

I'm not sure about the links on the left, I think it's the gradient that makes them look a bit murky, something a bit sharper maybe?

Aside from that no complaints :)

Stevo

Looks like quite a nice site, pretty clean design. Very informative and well organised.

I am not too sure about the blue gradient at the bottom, doesn't really suit the site in my opinion.

The words in the background seem a little distracting, keeps drawing my eyes away from the actual content. And the links under 'services' don't stand out enough, they just look like a block of text. Maybe space them out a bit. The footer is quite big considering it only has a couple of lines of content. Not too keen on that grid pattern in the header either. Apart from that the layout is effective and it all looks good enough. Maybe colour the headings to inject a bit of colour and make them look more interesting.

Now it's been said, i do agree that the gradient in the menu system isn't doing the site much justice.

Any comments on the new portfolio style, I saw a lot of designers in the states, adopting this new way of a protecting their clients from their competitors by using mockup sites instead of the clients actual sites.

I agree with the comments about the gradient at the bottom. Also, I think the background is distracting from the text in the header area. I think your background is a good idea if you didn't already have "Content Management", "Twitter...", "Search Engine Optimisation", etc, text in the header. Seeing all that again in the background is overkill in my opinion.

I do like the layout of your site a lot and it is a site that is easy to navigate. It is a good site with just a couple of minor issues I think.

Hi peps,

Thanks for all your valid comments, I will play with the site over the weekend and ask for your opinion again on Monday.

Now off to help others. :drinks:

First thing I see is 'Design Studio, the professional web designers'... you say your not looking for the wow factor!?!

I'm afraid the site doesn't look like it's been designed by a 'professional web designer' and if I wanted a 'professional web designer' to designer my site, I'd expect the 'professional web designer's' website to have a bit of wow factor to draw me in.

The design is very dated, mainly the top section... the logos not sharp, and the phone numbers to big and bulky floating in mid air. The text on the image banner is poorly placed and too big.

You have plenty of content, just needs a bit more time spent in Photoshop.

Hope this didn't sound too negative...
