September 13, 200917 yr Hey all, I recently setup the website Viewfamilyguy.com. It's been running for about a week now and has been receiving a steady stream of visitors. If you could give some feedback on the design/layout/functionality etc I would really appreciate that. Please remember not to comment on missing videos as I don't want this topic to go in any other direction than design/functionality feedback. In a few days I should have commenting and rating implemented and I'd like your feedback on any other suggested features that should be implemented. p.s. the video page doesn't validate due to the flash embed code, if anyone has any suggestions on how to fix that I'd also appreciate that Regards all that reply. James
September 17, 200917 yr OK first things first i clicked your link and i got a popup as i had turned off my blocker so i instantly closed the page... I would say to remove this as no one likes them and you have adds on side of page.
September 17, 200917 yr FAR too many advertisements. for the pages with working videos, the size for the actual video are too small.
September 21, 200917 yr check this link for example http://www.viewfamilyguy.com/season1/episode2/i-never-met-the-dead-man/2/ The movie look so small which is not fit the container.
September 22, 200917 yr I like the layout and the dynamic elements - synopsis on hover etc. But as stated, too many adverts and some don't show properly which makes the page look messy. There's still a pop-up trying to launch, my blocker caught it though. And the video was tiny on Season 1 Episode 7, which I guess is an issue with your embed code. Once you've sorted out these bugs I think you'll be onto a winner. I'd certainly use it.
September 22, 200917 yr Sorry I've optimised the site significantly. How does it fair now? Try harder. People will hate you and your website for all those pop ups. Waay too much advertising and like iceman said, the actual content videos are way too small to be watchable.
September 22, 200917 yr isnt that illegal to host copyrighted video and allowing people to download it ?
September 22, 200917 yr Looks good although you do need to attend to the problems others have mentioned. Also, if you are trying to generate revenue from ads, you should maybe choose some which are a bit more relevent to your target audience.
