November 13, 200718 yr Hello guys I'm a new user here and it looks very interesting. For my school media studies work, i have decided to create a new bands website. I have never made a website before at all and i really don't have a clue. Firstly - how would i go about making a website and what programs should be used? I do have access to macromedia flash and dreamweaver and i know basic HTML. Thanks a lot for reading , newtowebdesign

November 13, 200718 yr Welcome to the forum Having Dreamweaver and Flash is a very good start you may want a graphics package like Fireworks or Photoshop to create/edit images. It would then be an idea to have a look on this forum for tutorials or have a search on google for beginners guide to creating websites, if you have any questions we would love to help out. Regards
November 13, 200718 yr welcome to the forums, as for making a website look at some tutorials such as www.w3schools.com or www.pixel2life.com
November 14, 200718 yr Author Hello, Thanks for the welcome:) I do in fact also have access to fireworks so i'll look around for tutorials.
November 14, 200718 yr Band website. Investigate .flv format with Flash and inserting a player onto the page which calls up your .flv files, for showing their videos and audio clips. Similar to a youtube type thing. You mention you have access to flash.
November 15, 200718 yr Author Hey guys, thanks for all the tips. Ok i have some noob questions :-) Firstly - I know to mnake logos and banners and stuff like that in fireworks - but what do i use to create the actual website? dreamweaver? and secondly - does anyone know any good BASIC tutorials for fireworks.
November 15, 200718 yr Its better to learn how to code then it is to rely on dreamweaver, but yes dreamweaver can be used to create a site. If you want to learn how to code then this is a good site to start with http://www.w3schools.com/ Fireworks tutorials: http://www.pixel2life.com/tutorials/adobe_fireworks/ They are mainly how to make something but the steps are very easy to follow
