Google SERPs

Am I the only one who has noticed that Google has gone crazy over the last few weeks. We are a new firm and had achieved position 9 in searches then suddenly a few weeks ago went to 21 then a week ago 14 then yesterday 21 and now today 9!!! Plus we had site links but now they are not showing on searches but they are still there when I look at Webmaster Tools - anyone know what's going on??

New sites often get good search results, but only while Google evaluates it. During that time positions often vary but they will eventually settle somewhere.

Thanks for that but we are not that new! We all know the algorithm has been changed. Other people have noticed the same just asking what your theories may be.

Plus in my experience "new" sites do not normally get sitelinks - do tell me if you know otherwise.

Hi

Who are the other people? I have never noticed Google standing still, they are always changing things and things bounce around. Are you checking at different times of the day? How are you checking your SERPS? How new is your site and for what search terms?

SERPs will change all the time and it's perfectly normal. The results you see come from different results centres and SERPs positions for certain keyphrases will change as CTRs change and as other sites move up and down. In addition, Google are constantly working to improve their algorithm and as they do so results will vary.

Sites with higher traffic do seem to rank better. Keep concentrating on good seo practices and your site will settle where Google thinks it should be. Get more links in and keep refreshing any blogs, news pages forums etc.

Hey..you know Google is the worlds most ever search engine. So many sites are competing for our site in google. Its quite common that finding variations in SERP position.Just go ahead with the Quality SEO work,Automatically after few days you will see constant results..Thank you

The matter of sitelinks is actually beyond the control of webmasters and people because Google may decide adding the links to its index pages automatically.
