November 2, 200718 yr Hey, I have noticed that Firefox is crashing more than it ever used to, has anyone else noticed this? There's constant updates 2.0.9 was the latest today. I'm still an avid Firefox user but, I hope things don't get any worse. It's hard to say when it crashes as it's not all the time, but it certainly is more noticeable nowadays. I run only a handful of extensions. Web Developer and Firebug are the only 2. What are your experiences?
November 2, 200718 yr Hm... no increase. But I have had the odd random crash for no reason. I do however had quite a few extensions.
November 4, 200718 yr I find it crashes now when ever there is flash on a page, but that could be my graphics card on the way out. It basically freezes up the whole pc, I have to reboot to sort it, and is accompanied by an annoying, constant beep
November 4, 200718 yr Strange I have had no real problem with it, yes an occasional crash but none more than it has always been, so it hasn't been crashing more because of updates. I feel like I should be having more problems if everyone else is
November 4, 200718 yr Rarely crashes, but sometimes grinds to a halt when I run out of memory bandwidth...too many plugins installed.
November 5, 200718 yr I've noticed firefox crashes more recently, I thought it was down to all the plugins I have installed
November 6, 200718 yr About 4-6 months ago I had ridiculous problems with FF crashing. It seemed to happen whenever I clicked a link and then quickly Ctrl+T'ed to open a new tab and do something else (multi-tasking). The recent updates have all but eradicated the problem, though it did happen to me randomly a few weeks ago. I've found that FF absolutely zaps resources from my PC, especially with Flash websites. I'm now running the plug-in that lets you opt-in to Flash content (dunno what it's called) and I have a new laptop cooler too... but I shouldn't have had to do either of these things just to run a browser.
January 21, 200818 yr I get a crash on certain sites. Not sure whether its Firefox or my computer. In example, I need to use IE7 to get to Wikipedia, and a handful of other certain sites. Firefox begins loading the website and then either freezes, letting you only close tabs and use the exit-button in the windows’ corner, or gives the Windows error dialog which tells that Firefox had an error and needs to be closed... Always the same certain sites. Oh well. I’ll try with another install when I’ve got the time.
January 21, 200818 yr its crashed twice but cos i had loads of things running in the back ground, and it was an old computer... never crashed on my new laptop though
February 21, 200818 yr What I experience a lot of is temporary freezes, stopping you from switching tabs, or just making it very slow. My theory is JS heavy and Flash websites cause it. It seems to take a long time to render certain pages. Prime culprit for me is : http://eu.wowarmory.com/
February 21, 200818 yr yeah I have noticed that firefox slows down and then will freeze for around 10 seconds. Happens when i switch tabs, I dont think it has anything to do with the type of site I am on because I was viewing a few sites on my hosting which I am creating and it started to freeze up... Come on firefox you gotta do better!! I blame Microsoft!
February 21, 200818 yr I changed over from FF to Flock. Not perfect but does seem to be a little more stable.
