June 21, 200917 yr gonna get hosting for my portfolio (currently on free hosting), i add the package to the cart, when i go to the final stage it states the prices, it shows the montly cost, then get this Web Hosting - SWH-1 (domain name) £5.33 GBP (Pro Rata 01/08/2009) [Edit Configuration] [Remove] Subtotal: £5.33 GBP VAT @ 15.00%: £0.80 GBP Total Due Today: £6.13 GBP Total Recurring: £4.60 GBP Monthly its supposed to be £4 a month but coming up at £6.13 to pay now after vat, what is the extra £1.33 for?? im just gonna change the nameservers for my domain, not transfer to wesh anyone clarify thanks

Hmmm... when you state on your site: Monthly: £4Yearly: £48 It's not entirely unfair for someone to expect to pay £4 at the checkout... It's not like there's an asterisk or anything saying "*When you pay annually".

I'm just somewhat unsure as to why somebody placing an order on our website would ask complete strangers for help with our order form when we are here to help thats all... It does say on the order form though, pro-rata to 01/08/09, as posted by faeveilangel... So, its £4 a month, and since charging somebody the £1.33 just for the last week of june is a bit wasteful, everything is billed on the 1st of every month, so we bill for the last part of June, plus July, @ £4 p/month +VAT We have no problem at all with people asking, it just seems like "going round your head to scratch your nose" as the saying goes, when a quick phone call would have answered this on the spot :-)

June 21, 200917 yr 0845 is local rate anyhow - some providers may charge you the cost of a normal call whilst others a little bit more (again depending on the mobile network provider). The £1.33 extra you saw was a pro-rata amount and is calculated in days... Take us for example... We have a 30 day billing period and pro rata to the 20th of each month and say you want to purchase our dev package at £6 a month. The sum is £6 / 30 = 0.20p per day... If its the last week of the month, the billing system would add the remaining days onto the next due invoice ( 0.14p) So the total amount due at the time of order would be £6.14p and then £6 a month thereafter... I hope that explains it better

Its never a stupid question though, the only stupid questions are the ones that dont get asked. Our 0845 number is a local call number, but we do also have a contact form on our website... The "arm and a leg" actually equates to less than 50 pence from a mobile (dependant on your provider) or 4p from a landlne...(or whatever todays going rate is to call your next door neighbour) Like I said, it wasnt intended as rude, which I think is where text based forums kinda fall flat on their faces as it removes any sort of personal communication, expression, tone and intention that you would normally deal with in actually talking to people. I guess were just kind of olde ye fashion, and actually like to talk to people and enjoy hearing from people, and thus couldnt quite grasp this asking of others in an unrelated place, in much the same way I guess we compare it to asking passers by about a product you see in a shop window instead of going in to ask...
