It's my cousin's site...sort of gives it away a bit doesn't it lol I've taken on board everything everyone's said and it's all very useful and will help me for the next site which I want to be a radical improvement. The Contact Us page I had to make a certain height to accomodate the jquery validate plugin that pops in the 'required' fields when someone's not filling it in properly. The pages could be more prominent with a background set against the wallpaper at the back. The logo and title font...can't do too much about as it was established long ago. Have validated the pages now...that slipped past me as I was using the validate tool within dreamweaver which did not pick up the error...which was a '&' sign in a url that needed changing to & Smacked botty for Dreamweaver on that one...very naughty!

This is my second website - www.divaanddudes.co.uk - I have built using the 960 grid framework with some css3 selectors. It's built in mind to look differently on IE than other browsers to encourage use of the most modern and up-to-date browsers (at least that's my excuse! ) I know that I'm lacking still in the development and design area and am looking to improve on every site I do. Any tips or help on what I can do to improve the site would be much appreciated. Cheers Ian

Patterntap is a pretty cool site for design inspiration...I've just found this recently as, like yourself, I want to get better at the design side of things to match the coding

I used IETester and browsrcamp to help me out in the end with the different browsers...IE6 can go jump off a flyover into the path of a swarm of geek mobiles.

Yep, I agree...the zero tolerance approach to p*** takery possibly followed by a bukkake just to make sure the message has gotten through.

I like the coding interface with Dreamweaver and site management functions. Have a look at see what you think and if the added things can be of use to you. I like using notepad++ too. I'd like to try out Coda and BBEdit on the Mac...but don't have one lol

I think that the title/role "Web Designer" can be highly ambiguous at times and and brings up questions over semantics. The primary responsiblity I would say is results coming from clear objectives and aims.

Ditto...very nice logo as well as use of colours and space. I like the clean and simple effectiveness of it. The only thing that doesn't really do it for me is the front page as it's a bit barren. The latest news could be part of the front page but I personally wouldn't keep it just as that and would add to it. I would have a visual reference to your work right on the first page to show what you can do and work around that. I'll hopefully take some of my own advice when I get round to setting up my own Nice work though
