May 23, 200917 yr I've only done one site before and that was for my parents hotel. I'm in a tourism group and offered to do a simple site for them (for nowt :S). It's not as simple as I'd have liked though lol. I'm learning as I go along and so am quite enjoying doing it but it is taking ages. The site is done by me, some of the content and photos are by me but some is from another member of the group and some photos have been donated by a local photographer who's agreed to let us use them as long as he gets his link up on the site. I am adding ©at the bottom and wondering do I do it using my name or theirs? I kind of feel I've done the work for nowt so it should be mine. Saying that some of the pictures aren't ©to me is it still ok to put my copyright on the site. I'm not really sure how it works.
May 23, 200917 yr I believe that under UK law anything you publish is already covered under copywrite laws - you'll have to check with a solicitor to confirm that. There's no hard with adding a copywrite statement anyway. In your case I'd say the normal approach is to give the photographer a credit for any of their content that you use. This could be a caption by each image - "Image courtesy of A N Other" - or add a single credit in the footer.
May 23, 200917 yr easiest thing you can do is something along these lines All content is subject to copyright by the respective owners © Although please do word it better You don't need a copyright notice, as it's a default right.
