May 5, 200917 yr Hello all, I would like to add an invisible web-tracker/visitor-counter. The results need to be accessible directly from the browser with a login and not through the hosting CP so someone else can access the results. It just needs to be simple results (and free!) Any thoughts please? cheers
May 5, 200917 yr I use AWStats with my IP address added to the conf file so that my visits aren't included
May 5, 200917 yr Author Thanks M8 INTERNET. I had a quick look at their site. Looks like its quite an all rounder. Is it one that can be accessed via the browser (so I can give someone else the access 'ability' to see the results).? cheers
May 6, 200917 yr Have used... AXS Visitor Tracking http://xav.com/scripts/axs/ on various sites for some years and it works very well indeed. Regards Neil
May 6, 200917 yr Just use AWStats, yes it can be accessed through the browser and if you don't want anyone but you having access set up a simple .htaccess and .htpasswd file to protect the directory so you will need to log in before you can access your stats. Or you could use Google Analytics - it's free, but you have to insert some Javascript code in each page (it doesn't show anything on your page) to track results.
May 6, 200917 yr Analytics is without a doubt the best analytics package on the planet. Also it integrates with Adwords.
May 6, 200917 yr Author Thanks for all the suggestions folks. I have used google before and will look at the others. cheers again
March 30, 201016 yr I have just started using yoursitestats.com. It provides much of the info you'd get from other stats systems, but what's interesting about this one is that it's supposed to give users' other interests related to their lifestyles like their hobbies to help you understand your users more. Hope it helps!
