Well I like it --- but --- first thing I thought of was it looks like Alek's site that was just reviewed, only you used his header for the whole page, and like I told him kind of like the Harry Potter website.

 

I like the concept but NO MORE 'REAL' DESKTOPS PLEASE!!!!!!!!

My advice would be to keep the pad of paper and the pencil then see if you can't be surprising and change the background to something unexpected (but not too crazy). People love surprises and twists - it get you noticed and subtly sends the message "I'm more interesting than other designers and have more creative vision" (especially if the copy backed it up!).

Right after I read that I got an idea of doing a website on the bottom of a shoe.

 

To jump onto the wizely bandwagon: hes right, the desk-top has been done too many times.

Oh...... I didn't realize that.... I need to stay up to day with latest trends.. So I can avoid them.. Thanks for the information guys...

and whats with the 6 year old phone? still using tables?

My thoughts were exactly the same as everyone elses "agggh a desk!" Like wize said, keep the pad, but make it fresh! Think "where could I write notes that's different" - think a beach towel on the sand, think underwater with a waterproof pencil, just remember to keep it personal to the company.

 

Maybe try a play on the word artisan?

Try keeping the pad and pencil, and take them an put them on a clipboard setting across your lap or something, like Wize said "no desks"

 

Better yet go with the slogan "Windows into Creativity", do a tablet clipped to a multi paned window with one of those tied on pencils, and a bunch of post it notes around it!

Holy canoodles! Some times the time difference plays in my favour - I got all that kudos for getting in first when you were all going to say it anyway!

 

My desk replacement suggestion is a photo realistic cross-section of a cow - showing it's innards Damian Hurst style and like what happens to the horse in that film with J-Lo in where she goes into a killer's mind and spends the entire film wearing stunning outfits that make her look delicious (I'd bookmark her!)...

Click on the heart to learn about the beating heart of a website (copy)

Click on the colon to learn about IE.

 

The copy would be all about how web design, just like beauty is more than skin deep, how there's an entire system behind intelligent design - oooh the eye could link to a page called "Intelligent Design" (although I'm a Darwinist myself).
