Anyone ever considered setting up a WDF IRC channel?

 

Would be cool to be able to idle their during the day, allow people to seek guidance for little small issues, and just have some fun and get to know each other a little better

Sure, if anyone wants to do this, that's fine. I don't use IRC, but it's fine for others to do so?

I mentioned it earlier but there doesn't seem to be many IRC users.

I'm on IRC daily anyways, so if you got a server and channel you hang out on just let me know and I'll add it to my list.

I don't really use IRC that much but sometimes hang around #html & #css on a few servers.

I would. But I'm starting a new job on the 1st Oct and I don't think I'll be available online then. Of course outside work hours I'll be around.

 

I'm only using Stardocks IRC server atm, not familiar with any others. Got any suggestions?

its basically AIM but on a server with mass people

IRC is easy to set up

Dalenet and such will do it

It's how people talked to each other in the Stone Age. I think it's got something to do with rubbing two sticks together...

IRC is basically a chatroom, you can run it through a Java applet which is set up on the site that uses that channel OR you can download a program such as mIRC which can let you go on many IRC channels at the same time. So all it does really is let you chat with anyone who is on the same channel as you, like a chatroom or an instant messenger
