Key thing to change at this point is ofcourse the logo and probably the blurb.

Any ideas to making the logo more professional would be greatly appreciated.

Digital Suit.

Your copy needs to be more engaging. There's a lot of fluff and waffle where you should really be hard-selling yourself! Your homepage doesn't even mention web design!

 

I do like your layout though, simple and balanced, but how about making your content area a percentage of the screen size as on larger monitors it looks lost in the corner. Also, in your portfolio shouldn't you link to these websites rather than just have an image?

where should I start.

The first thing that catches your attention is that the website is all crowded in 1 corner(And I'm not using some huge resolution just 1280X1024).Every single element is there which really feels unprofessional

Then the website is...too small.A web design page needs to more flashy(not use flash!, just be more eye-catching).Use bright colors, make it bigger,make it more complex,more fancy.

Honestly,I feel it definitely is not finished.I wouldn't buy from you...

 

Now to be more specific:

1.Logo.The "digital" word looks excellent for me.I really like it. I don't like the "suit" word.I think you should take advantage of the fact that "digital" is having a small curve at the bottom and place suit above or below it, in order to make a "center" effect.

Also change the color.It may be pretty hard to find the right combination but white/grey/orange isn't really good for someone that wants to show creativity.Try some web design inspiration websites like webcreme.com maybe

 

2.I would increase the width of the content box and center it.

3.The menu looks just too...empty,...dry.Maybe make some nice button class and use it.

..there is much to say.Overall I feel the website lacks style and showing off mind-blowing design skills(also from my own experience orange and grey has never been a good combination:Lacks contrast).

Here are 2 websites I like for example.

http://www.agamicreative.com/ .Maybe it's pretty hard to do something like this but that's really mind-blowing

http://www.egomade.com/ But this one is simple but effective. It's just the black part with white inside,everything put over a blue background. A small contrast show-off but enough

 

Well that's just my opinion, maybe others feel different.Anyway good luck further with the website.

You are working the wrong way in.

 

Logo’s etc, are a very poor second to what is written.

 

The basics of the website however, such as colour and proportion are excellent.

 

That's my opinion and good luck.

You are not considering the the diversity of how your site will look on different computers.

 

Case in point, Your site resembled a postage stamp at the top left of my 22" widescreen.

Just a suggestion, Get a captcha form on that contact form, Or your sir will be recieving alot of spam mail

Thanks for the advise people and your encouragement where my design isn't quite so unprofessional.

 

My to do list:

• Switch to a scaleable design.
  
• Change the Menu, give it alittle spice and perhaps alittle more width.
  
• Redesign the logo, something more formal. Perhaps bringing 'suit' imagery into it, a tie for the suit i? I will come back with this.
  
• Bring in alittle illustration, probably small touches here and there. I am not a fan of flashy design but I do need to do alittle more with the space.
  
• Read up on some professional writing tips as my waffle appears un-tasty.
  

 

Does anyone know of a good blogsite who covers either the topics of good copy or dynamically sized designs. I'd like to read something about setting minimum/maximum widths.
