January 14, 200917 yr Hi everyone, My name is Avril and I am new to this webdesigner forum. I have designed a few websites, but more recently I decided to launch my own Web Design site to let people see what I am doing and hopefully get some clients. I am relatively new to webdesign and have used Frontpage and Dreamweaver 8 to build websites, but I find that I am using only Dreamweaver now. But I do have a problem with the forms, that is not the actual layout but making them work online. This is one reason why a used Frontpage as well as Dreamweaver in the past. Frontpage has all the relevant info boxes to tick and is very user friendly, with the exception of needing the frontpage extensions in the hosting package and can be quite costly depending on which hosting company is used. I have recently bought the CoffeeCup program for building forms and is great to use but can't help feeling that if I'd known about this forum I would probably have saved money and would be a little more informed about Dreamweaver. If you have read this far thank you, and hope to get to know you more in the future. Best Wishes ... Avril www.ifwd.co.uk Internet Freedom Web Design

January 14, 200917 yr Author Hi Avril, welcome to the forum. Avoid using Dreamweaver all you can, code by hand, it's the best . Thank you for making me feel welcome Traxor. I'm afraid I have never used code and wouldn't know where to start. I have edited some code when necessary but to start from scratch, I've haven't a clue. I would like to learn more and will certainly be visiting WDF as often as I can to learn a little more. In the meantime, are there any books or website tutorials that you would recommend? Best Wishes ... Avril

Avril You're welcome, you may find it difficult when you first start to code websites by hand, but once you begin, you'll start to see the massive advantages that you have by doing so. I've written an article on my blog about just this, with lists of recommended books, websites etc
