Getting started with Drupal

Featured Replies

Hi all!

I am getting started with Drupal, as it seems like this one suits my needs most, but am not sure how to go about learning Drupal! Could you please give me some tips, or point me towards a good tutorial? It would be GREATLY appreciated :D

Regards,

Brendan

Any reason why Drupal? You've not said what you're going to be using it for and there might be some more (basic/better) alternatives out there.

Sorry this isn't a free resource, but if you want to get into module development, I would recommend the book: Learning Drupal 6 - Module Development. I'm using it to get into Drupal a bit and have found it useful.

Thanks, but I'm not interested in module develpment ^_^

I will be using it to manage the site that I have been talking about here. I will need to use it for a blog, forum, and other things which I have not yet thought of I'm sure ;) I picked Drupal as it seems the most extensible and powerful! If somebody thinks I should use another, FREE, CMS, feel free to voice your opinion :D

That's pretty helpful for me too actually. I'm doing my first (I know this might sound weird) but CMS-driven website over the next month or so and have always been a little worried about where to start. I know for someone like me it'll probably be a little easier to learn, I've just always been intimidated by such things.
