Review My Bridal Shower Website

Featured Replies

Hi Friends:

Please review my bridal shower favors and party favors website Accent The Party www.accenttheparty.com

Your feedback would be welcome.

Hi Sandra,

Looks pretty good, the alignment does need to be worked on (nav bar for example overlaps). The code is very messy but i have a feeling this is because you are using a site builder (if this is the case i wouldn't worry about it as much) Also maybe too many images in the sidebars?

Well these sites are the type i am looking at..... at the moment.

I am due to get married in 8 months...

So i can view this from a customer view (sortof)

I like how i can find things. However i think there is a lot going on the page. A lot of Ads

Its like a few of these kinda sites i have already been looking at, just different colours.... (nothing hugely different)

It clean and does its job.

Now from the web designer want to be site. (i couldn't build a site like this yet, i take my hat of to you)

Your code fails the W3C validation i can see that accessibility would be a issue as well.

The design over all i think it nice and clean. I find it very easy to find my way around.

Blatent spam in an attempt to get a backlink I reckon :)

Yeah but as we use nofollow on the forum posts and signatures, then it is a little pointless to spam this forum as the majority of search engines won't count them as a backlink to the site :pp

Plus isn't it a bit worthless having a link to a bridal site on a webdesign site, that is no way to build up a reliable lot of backlinks to the site...have trust in out 1 post posters bluedreamer.

You hit the nail on the head. You'll find a lot of fly-by link posters are people working for "dubious" SEO/marketing companies who often pay peanuts to people in third world countries to post links in as many places as possible. Sad but true - I've seen people in India doing it :(

bluedreamer why are you more suspicious of this particular website than others?

I'm just in that sort of mood today to say what I'm thinking :)

I've been an admin and a mod for a few forums sites over the years and seen more fly-by posters than I've had hot dinners. Nothing against the site in question I just needed to say something - have a look at all the Reviews posts post on any web design related forum and count how many are posted by members who only post once or twice in total;)

Which browser shows the navbar overlap? I am using IE and Safari.

Decent design, although agree with one or two of the others in that it is a bit too busy, a few too many advertisements.
