Just a quick question im currently doing an AS at college graphic design products and well its nothing like what i expected. Im looking for something that involves the design being done at a computer (web design, print design, etc mainly working in photoshop and dreamweaver) rather than having to build a project using materials etc. I had in the first place chose just graphic design but it seems this year they decided to mix the course up with a bit of everything so the way im seeing it 75% of the course will be pointless for me. So what other options should i look into, any ideas ? I was even thinking of trying computer gaming since it involves designing and ill also be learning new things.

Are you sure you picked the right course? What was in the syllibus you read before it started?

 

Some courses may cover a wide range of disciplines...

Teach yourself the computing skills on the side while you study your A-levels. Graphic design could be very useful for you in the future if you want to pursue web design and development. Look at is as a way of having a broad skillset

Talk to a student advisor at your college. Tell them what you want to do and what you expected. They should be able to help you. As it's the start of the year changing courses shouldn't be too much bother.
