  1. I'm not sure if you're aware of this or not but buying an expired domain isn't just a case of registering it with another registrar the day it says it expires. You'll have to wait for it to become avaliable again. For .coms its about 2 months in total. So by this time it's pretty likely that google would have dropped these urls and the number of backlinks would have dropped aswell.
  2. For the header, if the restuarant has had a decent write up in the paper or something similar would be nice to include a quote.
  3. If it was me I'd use a subdomain for the mobile site. main site: domain.com Mobile: m.domain.com, mob.domain.com or mobile.domain.com Alternatively you could just use a directory of your main site domain.com/mobile/ I prefer the subdomain method myself.
  4. The new logo is a definate improvement over your old one, but have to agree with the comments about the "bringing colour to life" in your sig. Looks very cheap.
  5. Really nice. 5 is my favourite.
  6. Thanks having just switched to a dual monitor setup I was looking for this the other day but couldn't remember what it was called and all I could find was ff extensions that refresh the page every x seconds. Anyway having a quick look on the xrefresh site it says safari etc isn't supported, but it does mention livereload which looks like it does the same thing for safari and chrome. http://github.com/mockko/livereload
  7. Do you mean something like this? If so the simplest way is to set the background of you main div to an png of the page and shadow and repeat it vetically. #mydiv{ background: url(background.png) repeat-y; }
  8. It's possible. Should be just a case of setting the background image to the semi-transparent png. Make sure you haven't set a background color or that it's set to transparent. Also double check the url of your background image.

    Offering a service and providing a service are two different things, so your free to offer what you like on your website. However as I understand it when you start taking money legally you should declare it regardless of the amount.
  10. I prefer clients that let you make the design choices. There's nothing worse than trying to come up with something nice when you've got to work with an ugly logo and a bunch of colours that should never be seen together on the same screen. Having said that I do like to get at least a few examples of sites they like as it does give you an idea of where to start and what your aiming for.
  11. I'd love a dribbble invite, don't think I'm quite up to scratch though.

  15. You might be asked to talk though your portfolio. What you did, how long it took you etc. Then expect the usual interview questions. Salary wise, most junior positions in my area seem to be minimum wage so don't expect a great deal. Good luck.
  16. 2nd page does it for me. Just looks more clean and crisp, very nice.
  17. I can't see anyone giving away a .com/net/org etc for free, but you can grab a domain.co.cc at http://www.co.cc/ Have a look http://www.free-webhosts.com/webhosting-01.php for hosting. But expect either a load of downtown or the host to disappear one day without warning. I strongly recommend you pay for a proper domain and hosting. Think of it as an investment, I can't see potential customers being impressed that your not serious enough to pay a small amount for hosting and a domain.
