  1. I might be able to comment if I could understand what this/these products are about? Are these 3 different products? To me they look more like links.
  2. I don't have any complaints about this website. I like the neat look and feel, white background, black text works always! I liked it that you are showing so many pictures. Its got a pleasant, summery look to the whole thing. I might probably want to alter the content and layout. Here are my comments: - Maybe the home page doesn't need so much copy - Maybe you could put the home page copy in About Us - Maybe the About Us Page could be renamed Contact Us At the end of the day, client is king, so if he's happy, you can be happy too :-)
  3. My comments are purely from the look and feel point of view: I loved FLI audio from the design and layout point of view, very well done! I especially liked the thought process put into the animation, the way you have carried over the fly everywhere without overpowering the page and the clean white background which makes it easy to read the content. VIBE is a normal design with a neat layout. Streetrace - I think the dark background for so much text doesn't want me to make me read anything on the page. Lighter backgrounds are always better when you have so much text happening. Also, I wish there wasn't so much text happening, there's no way I am going to read through all that....theres too much action, too much chaos out there!
  4. In my opinion, this logo is too elaborate and needs to be more compact and simple. Imagine reducing this to a visiting card size or if you want to print it on a pen, you'd have to strain your eye to get it, and by then, your text and fonts would be dots.
  5. Thank you! Will definitely look into it.
  6. Thank you for your comments. I will look into those colours right now!
  7. I am trying to build my portfolio and doing some mock-up work, starting off with logo designs for an Indian restaurant in UK (imaginary). Please could I have comments.
  8. Hi, Looks like I am so outdated here :-) After browsing through many topics in this forum, I find that .css supported layouts are the order of the day! ok, I have no idea about coding. When I used to design websites, I had a basic knowledge of html and since the Editor (Dreamweaver) was taking care of creating the layout, I used to focus more on the look and feel (in Photoshop) and leave the job to the developers in my office to do all the cutting up. So tell me, these days...does a designer have to be well-versed in coding to make any mark for himself/herself? I know how to do tabled layouts in Dreamweaver but it is almost a crime to do that now! I was browsing through fixed layouts and liquid layouts using .css and div, and must say it flew right over my head!!! How easy/difficult is it going to be for someone like me to start coding from scratch? Preetha
  9. Thanks Harsh, so do you think this forum is a good place to find freelance work? who would want a person who doesn't have work to show off?
  10. Thanks Mesa, that was a quick reply :-) Didn't get what you meant by using .css to style websites instead of tables. Uptil now, I have been using Dreamweaver for all the layouts, and .css, I have used only for text!!! I think I have a lot of catching up to do :-) I don't know any coding, I can understand and do basic html...
  11. Hi, My name is Preetha and I joined this forum today. I am an experienced web-designer but have had to take a break for 5 years now. Want to get back in swing and land in a job. I don't have a portfolio that I can boast of right now because of which I am finding it all the more difficult to get a job! I know Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and have an advertising background, so I can do print jobs too, like logo/branding work. I am not great at Flash though! Any ideas/suggestions as to how to go about things? Looking forward to learning a lot through this forum! Cheers Preetha
