I prefer light design, and I'll fit into the statistics: I stay shorter on the dark sites. But agree with you guys it depend on the context.

I think today's free e-commerce solutions are pretty robust and you can find a lot of free and premium modules to extend the functionality and themes to create really unique site. I myself have an experience with OpenCart. It can be installed in a few hours and you can have your shop working in a day or two. A good start is to find a review site to see what each of the e-commerce has to offer and maybe try 2 or 3.

Another topics from my own experience is (I am tutor too): How soon you can see improvement in they marks. When is the time to change tutor. Also many times students need a little encouragement, if they don't understand the topic straight away. Maybe about how to do it, what to tell them. But that would be more for tutors than for the parents. I think if you ask your tutors you may find a lot of good topics to write about. And also on parenting forums. It is completely different to tutor someone in primary school and in secondary.

This is something I still need to figure out. I used to work from 5-7pm till about midnight. Then I worked from 10am till about 8-9pm. Now I am able to get continuous time slot from 6am till about 10am and many times it takes me about an hour to wake up and start to be really productive. But for sure I am the most productive when I work on something really interesting.

I am more programer than a designer, but even before I made my first site I read a few things about readability. And yes, whenever I think I should be doing something else I am glad that this sites do exist.
