If you're using wp e-commmerce it's probably in the shopping cart widget. The widget shows: "Your shopping cart is empty Visit Shop (shop link)" You'll have to edit wpsc-cart_widget.php to remove or comment out the line that says 'Visit Shop' that links to the shop page.

Go for it! All the companies we work for and worked with in the past started with the same question. That's my ultimate goal. To have my own agency and mostly manage rather than do the technical stuff. I'll leave that to the younger guys

Start with your personal off-line network like relatives and friends. Ask them to recommend you to their friends. Next you can start promoting your services to your online social networks. You'd be suprised how many people close to you know people who need web projects done. I've gotten 90% more clients from personal networks compared to ads, directories and job sites. Good luck.

sitepoint has some good wp theming books and so does smashingmagazine. that's where i learned most about wp when i started.
