Thanks for the early feedback guys, means alot! @cibgraphics: What problems are you talking about? I've recently looked on it on my Android phone and it is a bit temperamental - sometimes it's in its normal state, but other times it's bolder / jagged... Does this sound familiar? I shall investigate that / change the font. @Jack: My fonts are from Google Fonts so unless I'm missing something I can only get what they give me! - Unless I download them and use them locally? As for the flicker, I haven't noticed that myself but I'll look into it some more! Still working on the content / layout of certain elements so I aim to get the sense of direction sorted shortly. Shall also change the "work" heading titles. Thank you! @KevinJohnson: I am going to address the font as discussed, as for the graphics however I aim to keep the website minimalist-like and only use the graphics I need - i.e. pieces of work, the logo and social media icons. ... I've been messing around with the color scheme of the website and got rid of the grey-scale effect on image-hover. More feedback very welcome!

Hello again, I've been a bit inactive recently but now I'm back with a few new portfolio pieces and (more importantly) a new design for my personal website. Thanks for the replies so far, thankfully they are all the answers I've been hoping for! I do currently use html5shiv and conditional stylesheets for < IE9 that call up background images, however I have not tried any CSS3 options like CSS3 PIE but I will try and implement and see the results with future projects!

Hi everyone! So I'm in the process of bulking up my front-end development portfolio and recently I have been finding PSD files to convert into HTML5 and CSS3. So far so good, however recently I've been thinking... I've been spending a good amount of time on each project trying to use CSS3 to replicate the designs I have open in Photoshop, however I came across a tutorial today and instead of using CSS3 to create the same visual affects (gradients, border-radius, etc), it simply uses background images instead, (I currently use background images for < IE9 only). Overall it made me start to doubt my process. If you were in my shoes, would you continue using CSS3 and allow people, hopefully potential employers, notice the additional work you put in or simply stick to background images, which would shorten the time it takes to convert PSDs but have consequences on performance of the finished product (i.e. loading times)? Thanks teodora! I'm a little surprised at your view on my writing style, I thought I was getting that all wrong! Yea I really like the colour scheme of the site, I will admit I think there's a lot more work to be done but it's definitely my best design yet!

Hi everyone, I've been away learning a bit more about HTML 5 and CSS 3 and have implemented it into a new design. It's still a work in progress and there are a few things that need to be addressed, for example: There are a few rendering problems with Safari (not sure why yet, but looking into it). It's a really good start. Generally agree with the comments made already but I'll add a couple more of my thoughts! First thing I noticed is that there is no footer on the website, the content just... ends when I'm expecting more. I also noticed that when you have a thinner screen resolution, there is no horizontal scroll bar so it's a bit tedious. "I" instead of "i" etc - looks unprofessional. I would try and make your navigation buttons fully clickable, I noticed that you can't click the top half of the buttons. I'm not sure if it's just me, but I feel your navigation buttons are too close to your logo. As for your mark-up (HTML and CSS), a little tidy-up needed but that's my front-end developer side coming out! O:) Hope this helps! Stephen

@mantis - Thanks for the feedback on the content, thought I wouldn't get any! I'll have a look into it and change it accordingly. @rbrtsmith - I haven't thought about my next plan of action yet as I am hoping to get the majority of my content/portfolio polished off first, but I will definitely look into that! Thank you and good luck to you too! Am glad the majority are liking the layout and feel of the page, means alot to me as I'm still learning! Just need to apply the changes suggested and a couple more tweaks and I think I'm good to go, thanks again!

@nellyshark - Thank you for your comments. I'm aware of the transition affect, I'm pretty gutted about that and am looking to fix it asap! I'll change the element names you've mentioned and I see what you mean about the #666 - I'll have a play around and see what results I get. Thanks again! EDIT: @nellyshark - I fixed the transition affect (it was a width issue) and I've changed the "date" element name to "post-date and "top" to "top-of-page" - just waiting for the files to update. @teodora - I moved the call to action up a bit into the introductory paragraph, it isn't a big in-your-face graphic or such but I hope it's an improvement?

@Ryan - Yep, not %-based however as I have floating/fixed elements I don't want to wresstle with right now to get right, but may go back to it shortly! @CHEWX - Could you elaborate on "I would change the media queries to action before having the content flush to width" please? Not quite sure I understand. Thanks for the feedback so far guys!
