I am trying to change my website from the local host to putting it on a live webhost. Normally I just transfer all the files in filezilla, but this takes an extremely long time. So this time, I backed up the website in localhost, using x-cloner, and then downloaded akeeba kickstart to upload the backup file on my website server. I am having problems at the minute finding the backup file in akeeba kickstart, it is saying no archives are detected. It says within their troubleshooting topic about changing the file permissions of your backup to 755 and then it should work. I have tried this and still not having any luck. Anyone know what the problem would be?

Im going to create a website for a local business. I have good experience of using Dreamweaver, and I have some experience using Joomla. Basically, I feel that I could create a better website using Dreamweaver. But, I am unsure how to set it up in Dreamweaver so that the customer will be able to edit parts of the website after I have finished creating it. That is why I feel that by using Joomla - it may be harder for me in the short term to actually create the website - but it may be easier in the long term as it would be quite easy for the customer to update parts of their website. Can anyone give me any sort of advice here, as to what you think would be more worthwhile?

Im creating a Joomla website for someone, and they want an entry page. This page will just show the business name at the top, and then an image saying to go to a certain part of their website, and another image directing viewers to another part of the website. This is the only thing that will be on this page. Anyone know of any good modules/extensions that can be used to create this sort of thing?

Ok, so I have previously only used Joomla when Im messing around with sites on my localhost. But, this time, I am doing it on a live site. When I try to upload a new template it isnt working. I am putting in the install from directory folder, the folder that this file is located at... Should I be entering were it is on my computer such as "documents/john/templates/..." or should I be uploading it to the templates folder using filezilla and then entering the address such as "public_html/templates/..." etc... Even If I transfer the file using filezilla it still isnt appearing in my templates.. Hopefully someone can give me an answer soon. Many Thanks

OK, so I am currently designing a RIA. If you can imagine, it has a left sidebar, right sidebar, and main content in the middle. Along the left sidebar there are a number of options. For this instance I am doing football clubs. So, down the left there are a list of football clubs that the user can select on. Say they select Man United, then in the main content section there will be a large section of information that will appear about Man United. When the user views this information, on the right sidebar there will be some information that appears, such as the amount of words and lines in the main output section. I am jut doing this to try to gain my knowledge in this part of web development. But, I would like to know how I can put a search bar on the right sidebar, this is were users could search the data within the main content section. Thanks for your help, and hopefully someone can get back to me.

Just new to this forum people. I'm creating a website for a friend, that is in the wedding industry. They do wedding planning for couples, as well as hiring out bridalwear, etc. She is looking a website created, and asked me. I just design websites in my spare time as I am still a student, so not really doing it for the money, just the experience. I've been messing about on Joomla recently and am going to use that to create this website. I've found many sites that have free templates to download, but none of them have taken my fancy. Just wondering if anyone knows any other good sites were joomla templates can be downloaded for free? Maybe some less common websites but with good templates? If anyone knows anything here, then I would be greatful for the information. Many Thanks
