  1. So is it best to get a 24" at 1920x1080 or 27" 2560x1440? Writing in 2560x1440 I suppose would better if I did it responsive wouldn't it?

Hi currently using a 23" IPS 1920x1080 monitor which I'm finding too small and also causing me terrible eye strain. I have to have the brightness set down low (20%) as any higher and i feel like its burning my eyes out lol I've seen a 27" TN panel 1920x1080 monitor that I'm thinking of buying. Do you think the eye strain is because the monitor is on the small side or because its an IPS panel? Matt
  3. Been using it since it was released and I think Microsoft are almost there with it. Im used to hovering on the bottom left for the metro interface (which lets face it is actually a better start menu). Im yet to use it on a tablet but can imagine it will be awesome! Matt
  4. Im thinking perhaps this whole web design/web development isnt for me. I just dont seem to have the "common sense" with it at all
  5. When i go to file/new/new project there isnt an option for html , they are all java and php?
  6. WHat does version control do? Does it make it easier to add updates?
  7. Hi, Yeah i mean javascript. Im installing it now. Matt
  8. I might download it and give it a try then , cheers
  9. So would you say netbeans is a good html/css editor? if so i may as well use that for when i do learn java and so on
  10. Wanna run that by me in actual English now? lol
  11. Hi, Im currently using Notepad++ , but keep hearing about IDE's , so what is the benefit of me using Netbeans? Matt
  12. Hi, I know a custom PC will always beat an apple product , hence why ive been building my own for years lol Im just saying if you think of the 27" imac with the 2560x1440 its not actually a bad price considering Matt
  13. I take it you dont like Apple lol
  14. It is a decent bit of kit! Ive tried Apple stuff before but always come back to windows for some reason. Im just hoping when windows do bring out windows8 tablets that they offer similar resolution Matt

  16. Heres mine. Windows 8 Consumer Preview....
  17. As a mature student i dont need the normal entry requirements. Ive spoken to a college who runs the degree and spoken to the chap who decides on intake and hes pretty much assured me i will be accepted based on my circumstances. Matt
  18. So do you think a graphic design degree would be better as im learning html and css anyway. That way I would have the edge when it comes to typography etc compared to somebody who has just done a web design degree. Matt
  19. Hi, I contacted Vetassess (the people who verify you are eligible to go on a skilled visa) , and she emailed me to say Web Designer is a Group B occupation and the requirements are..
  20. That would be brilliant if you didnt mind. Im willing to do any degree that will better my chances of getting a decent job when i do move to Australia. Thanks
  21. Hi, Thanks for that. I feel I need to elaborate on the degree and Australia thing. I want to move to Australia, have done for a while and have always been interested in web design. I'm in computers (build and repair) so I know my way around a computer and windows like the back of my hand. To go over on a skilled visa I need a bachelors degree and it has to be strongly to do with the job I go over for, hence my reasoning behind doing a degree in web design. The fees of the place I want to do it is £5700 a year so £17,100 in total, I wont use student finance so no hassle in repayments etc I really will do it, and hopefully it wont take me more than the 4yrs I predict. Like everybody I struggle with some things and find some things easy and the thing I struggled with, with web design from the off, was how it all comes together but now I've been doing the videos and researching more, it is sinking in now. Matt
  22. Hi, Ive already started , using treehouse videos and finding it ok up to yet. Nearly dones the html part and then will start on css Matt
  23. You know what , I think I might just do that. Just hope you all don't get fed up of my questions lol
