  1. Ooh did not notice that, in that case I'll let this one slide.... for now...
  2. Valid point. Let's end it at that, even though the point of this way to prevent you and any readers of this to ever embarass themselves or score minus points at a job interview.
  3. You do what you will, I'm sure some consider it a programming language but untill it can be used to prefor low level operations I personally will not consider it that, not an attack on you, or anyone who considers it a programming language mind you. So let's agree to dissagree on this one. oh yes regarding the last quote, desktop applications does not a programming language make, flash can make desktop applications and AS3.0 is as far away from a programming language as possible, what makes a programming language is the option to speak to the CPU directly, something that PHP can not do. take this more as friendly advice if you're ever at a conference or asked to speak to your peers or at a job interview: don't call it a programming language, but if the employer does, don't correct him either xD
  4. C/C++,C#,Java, Basic, Python etc. = programming languages PHP, javascript, HTML, CSS = /= Programming language PHP and javascript are both scripting languages if it's scripted and can't be compiled it's not a programming language. +1 to all of that and I'd also like to provide you with this, interactive courses are always the best way to learn http://code.he.net/index.php
  5. did it go all the way down?
  6. troubleshoot it, set the body's background-color:green; see to where the green goes, that's the body of your document, if it goes down below the background-image then everything is okay and it's the pic that's wrong, try something like background-size:contain; instead of cover then if the green stops at the bottom of the image, then the body has somehow reduced it's height
  7. everything looks like it should work, may I see the PHP code you've used? and the HTML, better yet link me to the site
  8. no? add position:absolute; top:0; left:0; to the body
  9. html{ margin:0; padding:0; } body{ width:100%; ..etc. }
  10. you can do that with css background-size:cover; background-position:center;
  11. have you tried document.body.style,background=''('+Math.floor(Math.random()*randombgs.length)]+')') instead of jQuery("body").css({'background' : 'url(img/bg' + randomNum + '.jpg)'}); }); or if you really wanna use body $('body').css({'background-image': 'url(images/' + images[Math.floor(Math.random() * images.length)] + ')'}); p.s it's possible to do the same thing with CSS alone http://sonspring.com/journal/easy-random-css-backgrounds saves you the trouble of checking for javascript
  12. [snip] comming from the guy claiming that macs don't break or get viruses, you are one annoying attention craving brat you know that? I'm guessing your parents didn't love you enough or spend enough time with you and now here we are. Fact is nobody cares what you think, if you dissagre due to some naive brainwashed fanatic mentality it does not phase me, but you continue begging us to give you more and more attention.
  13. exactly, and the the terrorist attacks on the World trade centre never happened either it was a building error eh? You wreak of brainwashed apple propaganda, so I'm done dealing with you, I will not try to reason with people who do not wish to be objective.
  14. [snip]. [snip]. second off http://www.forbes.co...an-get-viruses/
  15. [snip], first off you are using a single sentence from a wikipedia article, please don't tell me you think that's fact, it's quite far from it My next point, why are you straying so far off topic and going into details like what the definition of a computer virus when you mearly asked me to provide you with proof that Macs DO get harmfull software? and I provided you with not one but 3 different evidences, 2 of which were directly from apple's official website. You seem to be fanatic in your mindset that your device is somehow superior and flawless, which I find quite pathetic. [snip], as long as your knowledge of IT comes from a google search, please don't even try to get into an argument with me
  16. viruses are categorised into how they behave so you have - worms - trojans - malware - spyware - rootkit viruses - bootsector viruses - memory viruses - polymorphic viruses and that's pretty much it now these are how they behave a worm will stick to the network and do harm there a trojan is a program containing many harmfull programs, and once you open a trojan they escape to your system (like a trojan horse) maleware is malicious software meant to harm your system or as of late steal personal data spyware collects user information without your knowledge rootkit viruses undetectable and their primary use is to allow the creator to gain access to your system bootsector virus are spread via floppy disc ergo outdated but they stick to the boot sector obviously memory viruses they reside in RAM and fill it up slowly polymorphic viruses a type of virus that replicates itself +1 Edited to remove personal attacks - MC
  17. Seems like a hardware problem to me then
  18. a strange problem indeed have you tried resintalling windows 8 via boot method?
  19. which version of Windows are you trying to install? what is your already existing version of windows? is it a laptop or a stationary? if it's a laptop which brand and model did it have any hardware failiures as of late?
  20. well they optimised the search in windows 8, now you press start on your keyboard and just start typing in what you are looking for and it instantly finds it I actually find the win8 search faster and better to 7's also you have the windows shortcuts available at all times like win+c is a pretty good one or win+e to take you to your computer, win+m to take you to your desktop etc. also that
  21. It's good, have nothing to say, good use of colours, ok stock choices, nice and minimalistic I like it
  22. Was just about to say it seems templatey, good job rallpod.
  23. not to be mean but it's among the top 10 weirdest sites I have seen. the code is a mess, the layout is from 1995, the colours are badly picked, the stock is pixelated and badly cut out, the fonts are comic sans and a horrible colour, the overall presentation is bad, no interaction with the user, no colours to tell you what's importaint and what not.
