Hmm, that would only cure me of seeing useless posts though, what about all the other poor souls? Why is that person even a moderator when that is the kind of stuff he has to bring to the table? Just one spelling correction on a site that isn't even finished. I'm pretty sure you guys are supposed to set some kind of standard on here, so according to this standard everyone should just correct spelling mistakes. Welldone, great job! Actually, can you delete my account please? I'm not going to learn anything from here with people like that. The moderators on here are some of the most I've ever seen. On the one thread a moderator changed options on a poll to very insulting (to the OP) options. It was probably you or the other guy actually. Psychologically it says alot about you guys, how you take advantage of the little power you have on a forum. Goodbye.

It's almost like the site is unfinished. I mean, I tried clicking on a link and it didn't even go anywhere... Moderator you set the path for us with your ingenious methods, thank you. I shall now commence feedback in your manner... Example: /o\

Website Design Company
Hey moderator, is there any possible way to -1 on useless posts? Thanks. To the OP: The site doesn't look bad, it does look like a template. If you're not using one, it looks like you've created one. It looks like this because the site is very neutral, no prominent branding or identity, it's plain and can't be completely associated with anything therefore good as a template, anyone can use it for anything. Visually you can't tell what the site is for without reading the content. It looks like you've tried to cram in everything 'above the fold'. I'd redesign it and plan it more. I'm going to assume one of your main goals of this site is to showcase a portfolio and to gain work, so your homepage should address this objective, right now the small portfolio images you have aren't doing much, you need to make it bigger and the text area describing the company isn't doing much to draw in attention and isn't advertising the site very well. It's not a bad site though, it looks nice and with a bit of character, contrast and graphics it could look alot better.

Freelance Website
Small border comes up. Maybe from the banner underneath the slideshow? Just thought I'd let you know. Oh and the sevices page has a title of 'flexslider 2'. I'd categorise your work on your portfolio page. Someone who is looking for a web designer doesn't want to have to sift through work irrelevent to them. On the services page I believe the heading on the right is a subheading to the one on the left? Maybe make that more obvious. I thought they had no connection because they both are at the same level of hierarchy. On the services page since you display the steps you take, maybe you could show something from that step, rather than the finished images? Like for planning, have a sketch wireframe or whatever image instead of the final product? That's an idea more than anything, but yeah. This may be a preference as well but I prefer the logo of a website to be a link to the homepage rather than having a homepage link in the navigation. Doing that might add a little bit of nice white space too. I find it odd that you ask for the budget on your contact form..? I do like it though. It's simple and looking at your work you seem to like the colour blue. I like that the text selection colour has been changed too lol...I honestly didn't know you could do that, never came to mind.

footer not working as it should
If I scroll down just the footer moves? Is it meant to be like that?

Review Desk-Apps
I don't like the login screen icon and the form fields are too close together. Maybe something a little more simplistic with the icon? To show you what I mean: Also, I didn't know what the demo and power sign in the right hand side were for until I clicked on them.

Centered content, larger background.
You're best using a seamless image for the background... so will tile fully on any size. In your css, style the body using a background image, and make sure you style it with 'repeat'. background:url('image.jpg') repeat To have the content in the middle, in the css, style the main container div with margin: o auto , and it should center all the main content. Hope that is what you were looking for.

Critique on coming soon page!
Like the person said above. Maybe make the icons a light blue or just a light blue on the inside and keep the ring around them grey.

A page.
I thought they were links. It's also even more confusing that 'request more information' is underlined and is a link. I don't think there is enough contrast between certain elements either. Like on the 'what our customers say', there isn't any distinction between the quote and who said it, and no emphasis on any keywords like 'outstanding' for example. I think the section that begins with 'no hidden charges' could do with some small headers, as opposed to the bolding & underlining.

Best way to approach portfolio design
Thank you alot for your reply. It's so difficult to decide. There aren't many jobs available so I wished to make my portfolio as universal as I could, but then I might end up with a job where creativity isn't required much(like you said), I don't think I'd like that. So thank you for helping me decide! Question to anyone- I was also wondering how do most web designers do their icons and graphics? Do the majority download/buy them? Or do they make their own?

Best way to approach portfolio design
What is the best way to approach a one page portfolio design? My portfolio website won't be to attain freelance work, it will be used to exhibit my work for any jobs I apply to and it will have my website design & illustration work in it. I'm not sure how to go about it, if to try and keep it simple/formal or to be alot creative with it. How do you know if you've gone too far or haven't gone far enough for a portfolio? -For example, if when designing you decide on a theme of a 'maid', 'warehouse' 'retro' etc, how far is too far? Or should no theme like that be taken up, should it be more simple?
