Can you try closing this div for me and see if that solves the problem EDIT: Add clear:both to your div style on line 30 as well please if you don't like for that div to stay on the top which is what I think you wanted.

Hi, I recommend visiting the website of the people in charge of web standards. Their site teaches almost everything you need. I think it's better than a book because: their site is current so you won't be recommended outdated methods their site is interactive with a "try it" area so you can see what pieces of codes do it's free they are straight to the point and just give simple relevant information - the site is there to teach not like some books that bore and confuse you with big words to make you feel like it was worth the money buying it

Does that mean you kept playing around with designs until you found what works for you? EDIT: Also, from a design point of view... can you tell me how you would know something is a mistake? Do you go with a gut feeling that it just doesn't look right or wait for user feedback or remember from a text book that you should never do such and such...?

Can I get your thoughts on how you improved designing web sites? Where would you say you learned most about design?

Div will be out of place after resize (unless you have scripting which means you need to make sure scripting is enabled before you add the div and blah blah too much work)
