  1. http://www.jarroldtraining.co.uk/it-training/seo-training-course-norwich-norfolk I'm an aspiring front-end web developer looking to better my skills, and SEO is something I need to learn. Is this course worth doing? It's a 2 day course.

    Can't wait to see what you come up with, keep us all updated. This is something I want to get into too when I have the time. I recently bought the book Responsive Web Design by Ethan Marcotte highly recommended but I haven't got round to reading it yet, looks promising though.
  3. Wasn't sure which section to post this in, but wanted to know if anyone could recommend any qualifications worth doing in web design/development either beginner or advanced. One I have looked at is an ICS Diploma in Web Design. I used to do the Open University Certificate in Web Applications Development but never completed all the courses and I think they are now discontinuing it.
  4. Glad you spotted this one! I didn't have a clue who ETV were tbh was relying on Janette to tell me if anything isn't right, I don't have much of an idea about media types lol. Have done my homework and changed it to the right one now.
  5. Thanks for pointing this out to me, I decided to take out the copyright notice altogether at least for the time being. Also thanks Pandadoodle

  10. http://janettehodds.co.uk/ Contact page isn't finished yet and still a few tweaks to make just need feedback on general layout and design. Thanks
  11. Its a Plesk control panel and I believe they used a framed redirect which I'm not really sure what that is. I just want to use this subdomain like a seperate website, so what the url to work in such a way that if you were to do a google search you would see the correct url and not the subdomain url. Does this make sense? I've never been good with this sort of thing.
  12. I have already had help from my hosting provider pointing my domain name http://www.janettehodds.co.uk/ to the sub domain, however if I were to type in http://janettehodds.co.uk/ it doesn't work can any one explain this?
  13. I know this must seem like a dumb question, but can someone please explain it to me? From what I can see you are buying web hosting and selling it on for profit, but can people use it for their own personal websites instead of selling it on?
  14. I used to go with Supergreen Hosting, but since they have more than doubled their price I wish to go with someone else. I only own a couple of small sites, but would like the option to grow within the next 2 years. I used XHTML/CSS/PHP and would also like the option of email accounts and databases. Can you guys please let me know which ones you use and how you would rate them? My price range is £5 a month or less
  15. My web hosting is up for renewal and justhost.com seems to offer the best deal but wondered if n e one here uses them and what do you think I know there are reviews online but never know if they are genuine or members of staff
  16. Here is the CSS: html, body { margin: 0; padding: 0; background: url('images/bg01.png'); background-repeat: repeat-x; background-color: #eaeaea; font: 12px verdana, tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #666 } div#title { margin: 0 auto 0 auto; width: 980px; height: 250px; background: url('images/title01.png'); background-repeat: no-repeat; } #main_content { margin: 0 auto 100px auto; width: 980px; height: 1200px; background: url('images/mainbg01.png'); background-repeat: repeat-y; background-color: #fff; }
  17. Here is the PSD mock up: And here is the link to what I have managed so far: http://janettehodds.co.uk/jantest/ As you can see I'm really stuck. I want to know if I'm going about it in the right way so far? I know I can use html 5 and css3 to add shadows and gradients etc, but I don't want to use these atm. If anyone knows of any good tutorials for what I'm trying to acheive would really appreciate it.
